I was hoping someone could help ID this desk. Lucite base with a top that looks like ribbon stripe / figured mahogany of some sort. Very heavy, high quality construction (though I wouldn't say artisan). Two drawers - one is a stationery organizer, the other a writing surface. I've owned it for a couple years and have been over it in detail, but haven't seen any sort of makers mark. Purchased in London from a dealer who acquired in Paris, but didn't know much beyond that. I've seen similar veneer used in some 50s/60s italian pieces, but haven't seen much elsewhere

Seems unlikely (a) all parts...
Seems unlikely (a) all parts appear to be of similar age (b) the lucite base mates to the desk through a wood mounting system that is made from the same wood as the underside of the desk. If the lucite is a later addition, it would have had to replace a nearly identical set of parts

hum!
sounds legit to me. Either way it works.
and let me be the first to say, nice chair in the background.
I'll look about, but my guess is you have been unable to find anything. Could just be a lovely custom job.
