Danish Table and Chairs Identification  

the upholstery says D Scan to me. Pretty common, commodity teak dining chairs.

Table is nicer than the chairs.

I think it is Henning Kjaernulf for Vejle Stolefabrik. At least you could start there.....

The table designer and manufacturer is as leif has stated. This table design is fairly distinctive and pops up fairly often in the US. All the ones I've seen have particle board as a substrate.
I had one a little while back that had a nice two-tone appearance due to the edge banding being darker than the top veneer. Not sure if the banding was afrormosia, as I sold it before I was aware of that wood type.

The only discrepancy I can find when comparing my table to the Henning Kjaernulf design is concerning the table's apron. I might be looking too hard, but it appears the apron on Henning's version has a slight upward leading angle starting at each leg and terminating after 3-4 inches before becoming parallel to the table top . The apron on my table is straight across, or parallel to the table top (see pics). I hope that makes sense.
If so, would that rule out the chance of this being a true Henning Kjaernulf design?

Probably not, no. If you like it, you should just buy it.

I would actually guess there is a high likelihood it could be legit. See if you can find one that is marked. That would convince me.
Cdsilva: I am pretty sure the edge banding on your table is not afrormosia, but actually just particularly dark teak. I've seen at least one other table like this, where it was all teak, but with a startling contrast.

Thanks again, all of the info was really helpful. I decided to purchase the set last night. I was pleased to see markings on both the table and chairs. I've attached a picture of each. I'd love to learn more about what I just acquired, so if there is any other information anyone wants to share I'm all ears.

There are a lot of these "AM" tables out there. They are generic. I am not sure anybody even knows what AM stands for.
Tarm Stole from the 70s seems about right for the chairs. Erik Ole Jørgensen did some designs for Tarm. Not saying these are his, but you might investigate it.

The table could be by Ansager Møbelfabrik as they produced a version VERY close to that of Vejle stolefabrik.

I'm curious whether you ever learned more about your table? I realized tonight that I have a table like it. I was also comparing to the Henning Kjaernulf, and noted a couple very minor differences. The one you noted regarding the apron . . . but our tables also have a slightly different edge profile on the table top. Most Kjaernulf tables I found have an angled edge, where ours is evenly rounded.
Just prior to discovering this thread, I did locate one with our characteristics that was marked Vejle Stolefabrik, made in Denmark. It also had a "33" stamp. Mine doesn't say made in Denmark, but it has an unreadable ink blob dash 33. Between seeing that one, and yours, I'm confident that mine is a table from Denmark.
Was just hoping to hear anything you may have learned since the last post.

Unfortunately I don't have much more useful information for you. I haven't taken the time to do more research as of yet.
If you wanted to post some pics, someone with more knowledge than me could probably help you pin down the specifics of your table. I'd be curious to see it as well...
