Danish Modern Teak Pessimist by? I cannot seem to match this mark which seems to be a shield with a "V" inside.  

It's not the Hans Bolling Pessimist--those have a small mouth hole at the bottom end of the head, not up on the front surface like yours.  It's probably just an 'inspired by' design by a smaller company.  There were lots of little teak figures made back then and I think even into the 90s you could get them at the souvenier shops in Denmark.  At least, I remember seeing stuff like that there...unless I am just thinking of the silly Viking figures.  
Still, it's a nice little guy!
