Newbie to these chairs. Thanks for all the info you have provided so far. I have read many of the discussions, but still have some questions.
I have 4 shell side chairs & have identified the stamp from this forum as Cincinnati Milacron.
There is no Herman Miller embossed logo or any other identifying mark.
LuciferSum via Eames Collector has provided info that suggests the legs are Lounge-X. I hope they are original. The swivel feet have a logo in the white plastic insert. Does anyone have info on that logo?
My concerns are primarily with the mounts and the shape of the shell.
Spray paint and scratch marks indicate the mounts were replaced, though they are sound and appear adequate for their utility and must have been done a long time ago.
We're there any variations in the mounts at any time?
If not, how much does that diminish their value?
The shell appears more angular, with the hip mould more scooped. One of the standard info links indicated that the Cincinnati Milling Machine Company which became Cincinnati Milacron in 1970 was one of the first alternate production choices for the Eames when they became dissatisfied with Zenith in the mid fifties.
Is this an earlier CM production variation? Did CM produce a renegade line of their own like Plycraft and the lounge chair?
I know there is no definitive production time for CM, but does anyone have any further information since 2010 on whether the absence of a Herman Miller embossed logo may indicate a pre-1960 production date?
Are these knockoffs, do they have any value, or should I just give them to my son and his college roommates?

The embossed stamp visible in picture 6 is one that has been identified on this forum as CM.
So you are saying that the Cincinnati Milling Machine Company (Cincinnati Milacron) may have made a line of similar fiberglass shell chairs separate from the ones they contracted to manufacture with the Eames brothers? I will research that notion. Thanks again.
That is correct. (Except Charles and Ray were a legendary husband and wife design team. They were not brothers)
Yes, the Milacron embossment only refers to the fabricator, who may have contracted with and produced multitudes of other items, including other fiberglass chairs.
The fact that Milicron produced these chairs will probably not effect their value positively or negatively.
