Chair  

It is a common cantilever chair based on the designs of Mart Stam and Marcel Breuer from the 1920's. Every modern furniture maker and retailer has a version of this chair.
It is still a useful find, just be careful with it around small toddlers/kids, the rounded/curved part of the chrome base in the front/bottom tends to tip the chair forward.
It is hard to see from the images but are the ends of the chrome, caps or welded polished steel? That determines if your chair is a common knock off or a decent one.
