I'm in Canada. It's currently on craigslist for sale and the seller doesn't know much about it other than his parents has had it since the 60's. No other photos than these, unfortunately, and I assume that it is unmarked. Very interesting, indeed, and perhaps locally made?
Just thought I'd give it a shot on this forum since I'm contemplating purchasing it and wanted to know more about it.
Cheers.
I think all there is to say about the tusk tenons is that they are tusk tenons.
And there is actually a set of dining chairs that matches this construction, and this peculiar cord and manner of weaving at an antique mall near me. Been sitting there for ages. The wood looks like teak.
Based on the very hand made construction and the teak, I would think that the chairs were made in Asia somewhere.
