So I am pretty sure I have found a unmarked Maria table. From my research they have been making these things for a minute. I think this one is all walnut. The only mark I can find is a 231. The piano hinges have been replaced. Any help on this as far as age and authenticity would be much appreciated. Thanks 8^) Jerry

My guess is that the
"Unmarked" ones are not "original" and instead are vintage reproductions. Does it really matter when you go to flip it? They always get listed as "Bruno Mathsson Maria style table".

Ive seen vintage reproductions marked Yugoslavia, the mark is very easy to remove.

i dont think
I don't think the mark was "removed" on this one at least to fake it anyway...it came from a barn in southern Maryland and from the amount of dust and the back story I think it had been there for 30 or 40 years at least...

looks
walnut to me
regardless of who made it it's obviously vintage and quite handsome.
The marks can sometimes be hard to find..

Just accept the fact it is likely not
A Bruno table. The Bruno tables that are marked usually have the marking on the underside of the removable bar piece that holds the table together when folded.

The grain doesn't look like
walnut to me, though I'm not a wood identification expert. The third photo from the top looks very much like beech with a stain or tinted lacquer.
Does walnut have that ribbon effect in the grain--ever? Would a Mathsson table have this much variety in the grain on the top? I mean, the center two sections have a lot more of the ribbon effect than the end sections. Seems like a Mathsson table would use a more consistent grain over the entire top.

I have no first-hand...
I have no first-hand experience with a Maria table (only Bendt Winge gatelegs), but did find this brass hinge detail on a 1stDibs listing that also had a Mathsson label.
While close in appearance, the hinges are not the same. Then again, many pieces have gone through detail/design refinements during the course of their production run.

you know
I just looked closer at the wood and agree. Look at the edge pieces, particularly inside where it folds. Sure doesn't look like walnut to me? Unless they veneered that differently?
Stained, yes?
