I am sure many of you have seen the George Nelson China Shop trays distributed by boltabest. I have also seen the "wheels" tray attributed to Bernard Rudofsky and the"Babylonia" tray attributed to Abel Sorenson Anybody here know who may have designed these two in the post below?

I should mention, that the...
I should mention, that the China Shop pattern usually attributed to Nelson, seems to actually be an Irving Harper design.

No one recognizes either of these designs? Maybe they were fabric designs prior to their use on the trays? The Harper/Nelson design was for Schiffer Prints. As was Rays Eame's Sea Things print licensed by Waverly Products for these trays

I tried searching once.
I came up with Boltabest and KYS-ite. Many patterns.
I suppose most of the designs were 'in-house' designed.
I found over and over 'designer unknown'.
Ray Eames must have seen one of the trays and thought
how wonderful to use one of her designs, contacted the
manufacturer and made it happen.
Just out of art school a classmate got a job with some tissue/paper towel
manufacturer. 20 years and still awful designs on tissue boxes.
(i have no idea where the classmate is) but everytime i see the awful boxes
i think how cool they could be. (i actually used to paint mine when i got
them home!) Now i just use the simple stainless covers.
(not sure how that relates. just a graphics thought)

The blue white and black one
is attributed to Nelson by Architonic.
Did you get a good price?
Also, here's another one they attribute to Nelson

Got the blue and white one for $20-from an online antiques dealer no less. Can't complain about that!

Thanks for the help with the ID. I also got the red and white one on Ebay for about $60.00. Hopefully one day, I'll ID that one. GREAT SCORE on the Sea Things Eames tray!

Is the red and white one Waverly?
Or does it have any mfg mark on it?
I can't tell if it's square or rectangular. Is it a Boltabest also?

Red and white tray is also a boltabest. It looks to me like another fabric design applied to a tray. I may have to go to the bookstore and get the Schiffer Prints book

Can you post a photo of the logo on the back?
I have an earlier Bolta tray and I'm trying to nail down the timeline of the company, any pieces to the puzzle will help, thanks.

I don't have the red or swirled trays here at my weekend home. I do have China Shop tray here though. Would you like a pic of that one or of the other two? I can likely post the China Shop one tonight, if you want, or one of the others in the next couple of days. Let me know

Sure, that'd be helpful, thanks
If they are different, it'd be interesting to see how they differ, but if they're all the same, no need.
