I am wondering if you, fellow DesignAddicts, can help me authenticate this table I am about to purchase.
More information as in dimensions and etc will follow. I am unable to get more photos other than this one, since the seller say his table is in a storage warehouse and he won't be able to be back until few weeks later.
I will, however, got a chance to see the table in person probably sooner. Since I don't want to wait for a few weeks, maybe thoughts, advice, and tips what to look for to authenticate this table will be highly appreciated.
Owner said that the table still have Knoll International sticker attached. And, the table was purchased pre 1970s when Knoll still on Park ave. There are few scuff marks on the base and there is a chip on the edge of the laminate table painted white to cover the dent by him.
Thanks in advance for helping us out.
You can verify this yourself within 2 minutes with internet access. Simply go to a site that sells authentic Knoll products and bring up a photo of a Saarinen tulip table. Compare the shape of the stem to the table you're considering. The one in your photo is obviously not a Saarinen. It has a long cyclindrical section in the middle whereas the Saarinen is mostly conical.
Or you can just refer to your post from October 28, 2015 Dodolah.
Not to sound harsh but you could also just get a Knoll Furniture book or go to the Knoll site if this is what interest you. DA forum is not a free personal shopper/ID service.
Even the ID questions here at DA now is vintage. 1994 called, it wants your how to tell Knoll vs. Burke question back.
