This is a long shot!
I am hoping anybody here can give me even slight information about these pieces. I love the look but they are 4 hours away from me. The seller says they are made from solid teak from the 1960s, says she purchased them in Taiwan.
Any ideas about them before I drive 8 hours round-trip to have a look??!!

Hi Dave.
I have no imfo on these seats (sofa?), but I do have a respectful opinion...if I may.
They don't look comfortable. They also would require immediate fabric, as the current round is quite elderly looking. I'm not liking the 2 piece set up, either. And most case goods made in Taiwan have inferior construction (or so I'm told). The seat would look better as a 2 piece cushion, and new foam can get quite expensive. And lastly, an 8 hour drive makes for an awful long day. But I have been totally wrong before.
Best,
Aunt Mark

Thank you Aunt Mark!
I...
Thank you Aunt Mark!
I would be recovering both of these to match if purchased. I agree about the cushions looking better as a two piece rather than 4. I have just picked up some 3" foam for free, so changing them is certainly an option.
I agree about them not being the most comforatble either. they are solid wood under the cushions.... no springs, webbing or cables...

Gosh, Dave...
I still not feeling the love. Does this set look to you as though the designer was attempting a "Modern" piece...as opposed to a "Taiwan Chippendaleish" look? Would this set blend well ( with new fabric, natch) into your current space? Would free 3 inch foam be any more substantial than what is currently applied to this piece? Are the current cushions an afterthought? Perhaps the set was intended to be all wood (no cushions)? Would you be forced to take the window treatment with the furniture? Is the price decent enough? Can you transport the set yourself? Could you resell it for what you have into it? What would I wear whilst perched upon it?
Respectfully and meat free,
Aunt Mark

Aunt Mark,
Thank you for...
Aunt Mark,
Thank you for your replies!
This set would be purchased for resale. After reupholstery, I estimate to be $250 lighter. I was hoping to get $800 for the pair. I obviously have the ability to buy, transport, refinish and sell the piece. Assuming somebody wants to buy it....
How far off am I here??? Looking for a good opportunity to make a couple dollars.

Well, in that case...
consider another project. But of course, I don't know much about the pre-owned Asian furniture market in your area. Perhaps for a resale money maker, something a bit more Danish or Americana inspired would be wise?? But I have (as mentioned before) been totally wrong before. Best of luck with your decisions.
Always,
Aunt Mark
