Wegner was a designer who always seemed to have a lot of stature throughout his career, and never was one to really need to move from one manufacturer to another, looking for work. His production was handled by SALESCO, which was a group of five companies who each did different types of Wegner furniture -- Getama did upholstered furniture with wooden frames, AP Stolen did other upholstered furniture, RY did his storage/casegoods, Carl Hansen & Sons did wood framed chairs, Andreas Tuck made tables. His producers were few in number, and were very consistent over the years, with PP Mobler added later on.
The dresser seems to be very much inspired by other Wegner designs, as has been pointed out. The fat oak legs are much like his, and the body of the cabinet is much like some RY pieces. Wegner's production is also pretty well documented, so the chance of something obscure coming to light, with a label like this one has, makes it seem to me that it is very unlikely something he designed.
I actually never heard about Salesco before now. Well, live and learn 🙂
The only manufacturers I can recall, apart from the above are:
Planmøbel (office furniture)
Fritz Hansen China chair + table, heart chairs.
FDB J16 rocking chair (also produced at Kvist and Fredericia Furniture)
Erik Jørgensen, Ox-chair (prev. AP-stolen)
Louis Poulsen (lamp)
(Did I forget some?)
None of these produced anything remotely similar to the Ry storage furnitures.
