| Well, hello, Dilly | 2 Relevance | 17 years ago | Riki | General discussion | |
| Well, hello, dilly Sorry, I could not resist. I just got back from Brussels and one of the vendors at the outdoor market had three of your tables with the blobby signature. One of them was semi-legible and I think it said "a-n-r-i". The little fifth blob was the dot on the "i". Maybe you can find something now. Good luck. | |||||

| You can use a ready made stain, there are plenty to choose from. I typically use a color base and dilute it and make my own when I want to blend color. You want to seal the wood first with something like spray lacquer and then apply the color on top. Oil based stains will take a while to dry on wood that is sealed but will still work. it may take several coats with an off the shelf stain to get the color you want. Some people like gel stains as they tend to be more opaque. You can experiment and simply remove it if it doesn't come out right (the benefit of s ... | |||||

| Posted by: tktoo2 Ah, yes. The gray "socks". Some have good luck with warm wood soap products while others swear by lubricating #0000 steel wool with oil finish and rubbing away. I prefer to use either naphtha or white spirits, an old course-weave linen dish towel, and a fair dose of elbow grease to give all surfaces a good rub-down. This should remove most if not all grime, wax build up, and other accretions without damaging existing finish or altering the color of aged wood. The dark areas at the feet are possibly caused by shoes and/or repeated exposure ... | |||||

| Dismantling a tulip chair | 2 Relevance | 18 years ago | william-holden-... | General discussion | |
| ... The pedestal base is attached by a single elegant little "c-clamp" (it looks like a dime-sized horseshoe, barely visible when you tip the chair upside down and examine the nub of the swivel rod that protrudes). The c-clamp clips around a groove in the end of the rod (there's also a little nylon tubular washer down there- don't lose it!). Remove the c-clamp, and the pedestal base comes right off. Ain't easy to remove this clamp without the specific pliers made for the chore (available at most hardware shops)-- the clamp has two holes on each end which the p ... | |||||

| Unless there was a dimension typo in the OP, 115cm is not a standard Wegner / Andreas Tuck coffee table dimension, let alone a square table of that size. None of the AT dining tables are even 115cm wide. | |||||
| 1959? Oval Teak Dinning Table w/ 2 Leaves. Any Info Appreciated. | 2 Relevance | 8 years ago | tstrianese | Identification | |
| Here is a dinning table that I picked up a while ago which sat dormant until my wife need a table for her office. I pulled it out of storage and tuned it up. I have no idea of who designed or made this table but while working on it I liked more and more of what the table said to me in quality. A nice well made and well used table. Most of the pictures I'm including speak to how it is built and are the underside of the table. Such as what appears to be an oak sliding mechanism for expanding the table to accept leaves. Which there are 2 flat leaves without ra ... | |||||
| h base original dimension | 2 Relevance | 20 years ago | aim | General discussion | |
| I have couple of eames H based shell chairs that all of them claim to be originals. I know the shells are, but not too convinced about the base since the dimensions of the legs are slightly different. Does anyone know if the legs were casted in multiple dimensions? Where can I find the orignial dimension of how wide the legs were set? | |||||

| Looking for Eames Lounge Chair Patent Numbers and/or dimension specs | 2 Relevance | 21 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| ... the actual Eames Lounge Chair (shock mount 5295755). I've also looked up "eames" on the US patent site and... hardly anything. Its almost like a conspiracy to conceal the actual design of the chair. I am not a designer, per se, but I do work in Autocad and I am a woodworker, who has also done some work in fibreglass. I am looking for the actual patent number for the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman... and if anyone has any links/clues as to specs for dimensions, I wouldn't mind hearing from you, either. My last recourse is, of course, to get a fabric tape mea ... | |||||

| Design has a political-economic dimension, or touch point of fit, that is always operant. For example, when a designer designs a minivan to present family household income levels to be used by families that the sovereign has decided to use a variety of institutions to skew outcomes in favor of, that minivan design is an enabling of that set of politics. The designer is, by virtue of his work, enabling that political-economic status quo, or working against it, whether he means to, or not. Likewise, when a designer designs a product with an enormous carbon foo ... | |||||

| Dining chair suggestions/opinions for new table? | 2 Relevance | 15 years ago | Modern Millie | General discussion | |
| Hello all, I just received a Paul Frankl cork dining table, which I absolutely love love love - the cork is so warm and multi-dimensional - warts and all. It came with a hodge-podge set of Frankl chairs, all of which need help. Before I sink any money into refinishing/reupholstering/buying mates, I wanted to get some opinions from anyone who would care to share one. Currently I have: 2 lattice-backed mahongany armchairs (matching the lattice legs) - surprisingly uncomfortable if you rest against the back. Also some bad glue jobss on the arms. 2 lattice-ba ... | |||||
