| I had a similar dilemma... I had a similar dilemma recently as I wanted an ESU for my hallway (I am based in the UK) Ideally I was looking for a low two tier unit with dimpled lower doors, Vitra do not supply this particular model but HM do, the cheapest I could find the HM model was around $1100 Originally they came flat packed however they changed to being supplied to the customer fully assembled some time ago, (I?m not sure if this is true with the Modernica version) as a result they are pretty bulky (and heavy I had to rope in my girlfriend to help me m ... | |||||
| Battery dilemma | 2 Relevance | 20 years ago | Monochrome | General discussion | |
| Battery dilemma I don't have access to a WIlliam McDonough-style life-cycle analysis of batteries vs. house current, so I can't say for sure whether the air pollution, fly-ash production, coal-mining (or God forbid, nuclear-technology) damage, and human misery related to power generation is less pernicious than the chemical manufacturing, shipping, packaging, and disposal evils of an equivalent number of AA batteries throughout the life of the clock. I just don't have any way of knowing. Maybe it all cancels out. Maybe there are factors we haven't thought of ... | |||||

| VFair story about Gehry's Barry Diller building in NYC... | 2 Relevance | 19 years ago | dcwilson | General discussion | |
| Vanity Fair has a story about it. For the first time I'm disappointed with a Gehry building. I know the pictures give limited views, etc., etc., but this just doesn't cut it even in partial view. Oh, well, he couldn't keep hitting home runs forever. Yes, yes, there are good parts inside and out, but its something I never thought I would say about a Gehry building--it just kind of sits there being heavy. | |||||

| I just discovered that in 1965, Foster-McDavid was the maker of these chairs. Note that the photograph even shows the cane back version of the chair in the background. different table though. So Foster-McDavid must have been bought by dilligham between 1965 and 1969. This also definitely has implications for the designer. It would appear that Merton Gershun is almost certainly not the designer. It would be someone who worked with Foster-McDavid. | |||||
| Dillingham? Pearsall? Generic? Walnut Dining Table w/Glass Top | 2 Relevance | 9 years ago | Micky | Identification | |
| Hi I bought this dining table with two dillingham Milo Baughman nightstands that had "come in together" - I can't match the table to MB or any other designer on Google or any other sites - could be a non-designer table - just thought I'd run it past the experts here -- I love it either way -- if you have any ideas - I would appreciate it! | |||||

| Is there any proof that Milo Baughman designed anything for Dillingham furniture | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | bigdog1970 | Identification | |
| I have a six drawer dresser by dillingham. Almost every piece online is attributed to Milo, but there seems to be no evidence that he ever designed for them. This is a horrible picture but it is in a warehouse with no lighting and too heavy to move by myself. TIA, Bryan | |||||
| Dillingham Esprit and Milo Baughman -- Did he design this collection? | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | MSK | Identification | |
| I have learned not to believe everything I read about Milo Baughman and the furniture that dealers credit to him - Chairish and a used furniture dealer in PA credit the dillingham Esprit dining Table and Chairs to Milo Baughman... is this just wishful thinking? I can't find any history that puts the two together - Any insight is appreciated! Photo is from Chairish web site.. | |||||
| Milo Baughman Lounge Chairs? Pierre Cardin Dining Chairs? | 2 Relevance | 13 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| I was wondering if you might know if these 2 chrome and orange fabric lounge chairs were designed by Milo Baughman? Thank you. The manufacturer labels were cut-off, prior to my acquiring the chairs. I also have what looks to be a chrome bench designed by Milo Baughman, and four dining chairs. The dining chairs have manufacturer labels which identify them as being made by dillingham MFG company in Leland, Miss. I suspect that these might be designed by Pierre Cardin, as they were with a Pierre Cardin Burled Olive Wood dining Table (not pictured). However, I r ... | |||||

| Dear dillon Sorry I completely overlooked your message. Henriette never send me the text so...I never translated it. Some additional information though, You will not find Akerblom in most publications on scandinavian design, because he is not a designer. Even in the recent Scandivavian Design by Charlotte & Peter Fiell (Taschen) I could not find any mention of him. He is...or was a researcher. His particular interest was the seated position. He is generally credited for having invented the lumbar support is chairs, which is most often refered to as the Akerb ... | |||||
