| Need help locating a second Lightolier glass diffuser/shade | 2 Relevance | 14 years ago | midmod | General discussion | |
| Over the last several years, I have been casually looking for a 2nd glass shade to a Lightolier wall sconce to replace the one I broke (Argghh!). The fixture has two matching glass diffusers side by side. I find no identifying model numbers on the light fixture, although they may be on the back where I can't get to them. The lamp dimensions are 16"L x 4.5"H x 4.5"D. It houses two light bulbs. Can anyone give me an idea where I might find a matching diffuser/shade?? Thank you! http://plus.google.com/photos/106928913572006239560/albums/5844182332481641 ... | |||||

| diFrutta? Has elements of a Gianni Sacco diFrutta - the longish bulbous shape at the end. But 18" is rather ambitious - even for diFrutta. | |||||

| I was looking at the Sept 2013 Architectural digest in a waiting room today, (the one with Ralph Lauren on the front with a Lamborghini) and saw this pair of chairs. Anyone know who or what they are? I believe the photo was an ad, and in any case I saw no caption as the facing page had been ripped out. There is a Mathsson chair in the background, but I have never seen the pair before. | |||||

| I like to comment once a month about the home magazines since i take almost every one of them, i do subscribe to all the modern ones. ARCHITECTURAL diGEST surprised me this month This magazine has been continually boring but this month they stepped out and did architect David Hovey home outside Chigago on Lake Michigan , and it is wonderful. The house is a 8350sq ft home that Hovey said took only 6 months to construct and much or which was prefabricated and shipped in via flatbed truck, took on ... | |||||

| I need to digest and read... I need to digest and read through all those great thoughts in this thread to be able to write my little bit 🙂 But what just came to my mind was another quote I know from Picasso, saying : I don't have dreams, I have plans. in this terms.. even the previous quote {I do not seek, I find)looks to me like expression of some deeper knowledge, his confidence about what he is up to do.. btw. really great to see you back, koen 🙂 | |||||

| "Pre-digested intoduction to Eames with a Bogus Cover" I was able to find this book on Amazon This was the review that Aragorn the Traveler wrote on December 22, 2000 "To begin with, I read a lot of books about Charles & Ray Eames and have a great love of mid century modern. This is aimed rather lower. My first complaint is the cover. Whose chair is this? It's certainly not one designed by Eames. The rest of the book is a rehash history in 21 pages of everything you probably know unless this is your first Eames book. The remaining 50 or 60 pages are photos you've seen everywhere, but without the contextual explanation that makes it all fall into place. One example of this lack of contextual explanation is a picture of a platform over someone laying on the grass. There is no mention that this photo set up was for a shot from "The Power of 10". This would be appropriate reading for someone very young as a quick introduction, but if you already know much about Charles and Ray Eames you should make another pick." | |||||
