| This is a difficult chair as... This is a difficult chair as it needs to be hand sewn, Fritz Hansen started using a metal mesh on the top and now uses a top seam all the way around on the new chairs, The old style eggs you can not use a top seam cause you cannot tack into the fiberglass. All good upholstery people know what kind of foam to use when re foaming the chair. you need to use a good fabric with stretch like Kvadrat hallingdale. The job should cost between $550.00 and $700.00 per chair, but if you have original chairs this is nothing ... | |||||

| it can be more difficult the... it can be more difficult then you think . you must grind all the old glue off with a grinder , then re foam, put fabric on with spray glue. Stretch fabric after you cut your pattern, as you will want to sew the middle seams in the fabric to give the proper look. Put crimp cord on and cut extra fabric on the underside. If you think that is easy go for it. otherwise give me a call. | |||||

| Very difficult to rely on... Very difficult to rely on only one text. That said, I particularly like: A Treasury of Scandinavian Design by Erik Zahle; Scandinavian Design and Modern Scandinavian Furniture by Ulf Hard af Segerstad; Danish Chairs by Noritsugu Oda; Made in Denmark by Hans Kofoed; Designed for Life by Ellison/Pina; and Den Store Danske Mobelguide by Hansen, Per H. and Klaus Petersen I have also linked to a previous thread on this topic http://www.designaddict.com/design_addict/forums/index.cfm/fuseaction/th... | |||||

| It's always difficult to... It's always difficult to judge a piece with medicore photography, but I agree the build quality doesnt look very good. That said, the pulls look alot like the office furniture Jens Risom made in the 60's and 70's. | |||||

| A little difficult to underst... A little difficult to understand how to help without come clarity as to why you're having problems. I have never cosigned with Wright. The interactions I've had were all positive. They've always been courteous, but it is business professional you know. They are very selective about what they present in each auction. That means cosigning with them might not always work as you anticipated. They do take time to respond and that's no different with any other auction houses. If an unusual length of time passed, you could sen ... | |||||

| A solution shouldn't be too difficult after observing the piece needed-- a U-shaped bracket with two holes for the lamp, two holes to attach screws to wall. Maybe you could have this piece custom-made at a low cost. | |||||

| i'm sure it is very difficult.... to convert such and such...but im betting even more so out there....i just moved here from four years living out there....its hard to do anything without the EPA and such pummeling your caboose....though your certainly correct about all of the above, it certainly doesnt negate the fact that apathy is staining cityscapes from one end to the other...if you arent going to use it-get rid of it..sell it, destroy it, what have you...let the devil harbor this false sentimentality that we have...make way for the inevitable....green ... | |||||

| The desk project is about as difficult as playing with Lego. But, it's not my business to talk you into it; a man's right in knowing his limitations, I suppose. If you don't want a metal file cabinet, then get wood. I've seen some handsome ones from the 60's/ 70's. | |||||
| Must have been difficult to run his Manhattan lamp business | 2 Relevance | 16 years ago | fastfwd | General discussion | |
| Must have been difficult to run his Manhattan lamp business from his home in Los Angeles, where he'd been living for years before the MoMA competition. Plus, why'd he spell his name "Jascha" when he was fiddling, but "Yasha" when he was sculpting and making lamps? Was he trying to be incognito? It must have worked, since no one but your anonymous answers.com author -- including Herbert Axelrod, who wrote a 750-page Jascha Heifetz biography -- has ever said that the violinist and the lamp manufacturer were one and the same. Hey, do you think answers.com mig ... | |||||

| Schef, it is very difficult | 2 Relevance | 16 years ago | HowardMoon | General discussion | |
| Schef, it is very difficult to make out from the images you have. The reason I recommended taking an image of the chair without the cushions is most copies use completely different methods of bolting the chair together, the cusion clips will be a different design Etc. From the one useful image here I can see that the cushion clip looks to be an original and there seems to be nothing wrong with the connector plate. The screws within the shockmounts don`t look original to me but this may not be a concern. | |||||

| As for Gasland, was difficult... As for Gasland, was difficult to watch...absolutely harrowing! After the BP spill, what shred of respect I had for the Gas Industry and anyone financially gaining from the industry has completely evaporated. I have none left.... Respect as human beings yes...but none as contributors to society and the betterment of the future. There's a book by Rachel Carson titled "Silent Spring". Very much like Gasland, but largely dealing with the chemical industry. It's from 1962! | |||||
