| There is a difference between auction prices and gallery prices, just like the price differences between galleries.Just because someone pays a certain amount at auction doesnt mean that it the going rate for that piece.I recently bought a chair at auction in UK for just over £7000 and i know the chair is worth at least £10000, therefore if i were to sell it on i would want £10000 plus.Demand and supply. As far as rents go, if its too high then dont sign the lease in the first place!,landlords have to eat as well you know. | |||||

| The distance Between Designer and Person Designed For Pt 8 For better and for worse, the consumer has become over the last century a creature designers know a lot more about in an abstracted, rational sort of way. Designers, through their manufacturers, distributors, marketers and retailers, know one hell of a lot about the consumer today...especially how to make things that constellation of firms think their abstraction of a consumer will buy at the price fixed in the oligopoly shelf space the oligopoly regime permits. There is lots of error in judgement an ... | |||||

| This whole discussion... has not moved one participant any closer to the point of view of the other which is probably exactly what one can expect. Neither point of view is right or wrong. They are simply different. What bothers we most in it is the confusion about definitions. Traditionalist in this case are those who consider the Eames design an on-going tradition that can be changed, adapted to new standards as long as it respects the "spirit of the designers" or what we know about it. Those who want to keep the pieces "as they were" are not purists, they ... | |||||

| You also might split the difference... between the easier to produce crown-like option and James more bomb-shaped vase by opting for NACA ducts (they put these in the body work on closed wheel racing cars usually for drawing air into radiators and brake disks with a minimum of disrupion in the airflow). NACA ducts would allow for a perfectly round rim at the top, some bomb-like tapering, and side ducts for inserting the flower stems into. NACA ducts are a very elegant, modern and interesting shape to my eye, also. You can see the NACA ducts on the hood of th ... | |||||

| clothing and products...what's the difference | 2 Relevance | 20 years ago | koen | General discussion | |
| clothing and products...what's the difference I do not see why a designer would not pay as much attention to clothing as we expect from others for products or for interiors etc. This does not mean that designers more than anybody else should feel compelled to wear what is expected from her or him. But expressing oneself through all the "components" of the material world we surround us with is one of the great priviledges of our time and culture. In fact those who try to hide their identity behind burkas or english school uniforms have the tendency to tell m ... | |||||

| difference between designer and decorator... Hi there! I'm currently in school studying to become an interior designer. The main difference that our instructors hammer into us is that as designers, we are responsible for the safety of the designs we produce. We have to know all the codes and restrictions and base our selections and plans off of those. Interior designers are responsible for both residential and commercial. Also, in order to truly call yourself an interior designer (at least here in the US) you have to have passed the licensing test to become ... | |||||

| difference you will need to make a difference between art that influenced design just by its form (eg lachaise eames, toothbrush starck; Brancusi 'vogel', ...) and art that meets design in a more profound way; see 'de stijl' (and its architecture, furniture design, paintings, ...; mondriaan meets rietveld) | |||||

| price difference european products are always between 10 to 20% more expensive in the us market because of markups.there is a confusing designer's and architect's comission system...so if you go to the vitra showroom as a regular person, and if you insist to buy that lachaise they will make a discount..and if you ask why the price of noguchi table is same:vitra has to be competitive in the us market because they are not doing very as far as I know...so they increase some product's prices like noguchi table.......... http://hipmodern.blogger.com | |||||

| Difference I agree, nuances are may be only consider by passionnate people, but if there is no visual difference between my two chairs, not even a small difference when you seat on it, where is the difference then ? Does a pro will be able to notice one ? Cause you just have to hold a Rolex, and hold a fake, you won't need much time to notice a difference, hear a Rolex, then hear a fake, you will notice a difference, even if you know nothing about watches. | |||||
