| please help identify MCM lounge chairs Widdicomb? Robsjohn Gibbings? | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| ... for. There is a label with nothing on it, though, on one of the black seat spring mats. The fabric looks original because there is a bit of crunchiness to the outsides of one cushion. I know everyone made these chairs. Baumritter is no where to be found. I know where that would be etched. The telling difference of these are: the legs wrap into the arms, wrap around the back of the support spindles, and then go into the arm and into the other legs - almost all one piece. Can you help identify this maker please? Many thanks, retro-redemption | |||||
| Help with ID of Danish flip-top table | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | TheMidCenturyBeehive | Identification | |
| Hello- I've been lurking on the forums for quite a while but don't post much. I picked up this table a couple of years ago and have tried unsuccessfully to identify the designer / manufacturer since then. I'm hoping the expertise of this forum can assist. Full disclosure: my wife and I restore and sell mid-century furniture to support our collecting the same. To be fair though, in our local market it doesn't make much of a difference in valuation to have an identified designer; we see Lane and Drexel pieces sell for as much as Moller and Hvidt. I'm mostl ... | |||||

Should I just return the base and junk glass and get my money back? Or should I try and find another piece of glass that is just as good as Knoll without the price tag. I'm not sure what the difference would be!
| Togo furniture with Airborne/Arconas Label | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | mod livin' mode... | General discussion | |
| I have a 5 piece set of Togo furniture (3 seater, 2 seater, corner unit, and 2 ottomans) I am puzzled because the label is different than other Togo sets that I have seen. Instead of stating that it was produced by Ligne Roset it has "Airborne/Arconas of Ontario Canada," paper label it addition to the bottom fabric panel which incorporates the Airborne Arconas logo woven into the decking material, it also states "Manufactured in Canada under license of Roset of France" Not "Ligne Roset of France" and my question is this worth as much as one produced with a ... | |||||

| ... provenance. Hopefully someone out there can help. I'm not sure how to post a pic here yet so I've borrowed this... It is similar to the one below. When I say similar, it is a smaller version but obviously from the same range. The drawer handle and door pull details are identical as are the over-sized end cheeks, legs and base design, the only difference being that it's shorter - having only one bay of sliding doors. As you can see this dealer has attributed the piece to H.W. Klein but I can't find any other resources that corroborate that claim, most of Kl ... | |||||
| Aalto | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | merzbau | General discussion | |
| Hi, I am under the impression that earlier 1930s-40s Aalto furniture produced by Artek had the stamps ('Aalto design made in Finland') in red and the later in brown? It seems that the fifties Artek furniture was generally unmarked and the slight difference can be seen in the colour (more pale/anaemic looking). In the Uk most of the 1930s Aalto designs were retailed through Finmar and carry the retailers labels so it is easy to distinguish the pre-war and post-war production. However it seems that prior to WWII there were versions being produced in several ot ... | |||||

| ... the Hollingdal is more wear resistant and that the Tonus seems to be used in curved (egg chair) type application due to its stretching ability. Do you think that using the Tonus would be a mistake on this type of sofa? Is the difference in wear that noticeable? No dogs, no kids, no jeans...light use sofa. I've attached images below of the current sofa (L shape Nelson Modular), the sofa that will be replacing it ( circular with bench) and the two fabrics in question. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. OK...still working on loading pics...stay tuned. ... | |||||
| Aluminium Group Vinyl vs Leather | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | Xavier | General discussion | |
| Just bought two black Management chairs off eBay, which were sold as leather. I'm 99% sure they're vinyl though. They're from the '90s. It doesn't really bother me - hey it's an Eames chair - but is there a definitive way to tell the difference? Are the leather versions stitched along the ribs for instance? Input welcomed... | hans wegner table?? | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | christopherhogg | General discussion | |
| Hi all - i am looking for some advice & help please in identifying a table. i have a solid teak table that looks very much like the Wegner Ch002 table now made by Carl Hansen (formerly made by Getama). the legs detach which is the only real difference i can see in the table form the Carl Hansen version of the table. The only markings on the table are an ink stamped 'made in Denmark' with a picture of what looks like a castle. The table came with 6 Wegner heart chairs for Fritz Hansen. Can anyone tell me if it's possible this is a Wegner table? many thank ... | |||||

It really penetrates, cleans, and protects the wood without leaving the usual oily residue. One easy coat with a light rub down and the teak looks terrific. I ordered the large bottle and I've hardly put a dent in it. That covered six chairs, one rocker, four end tables, three coffee tables, two credenza's, one desk, and one dining room table. My thanks to Adam and the DA forum for such helpful, professional info. Might add that, regardless of th ...
