| Nattering Nabobs of Negativism. I must comment that I admire you difeliciantonio. My admiration has nothing to do with your blatant plagiarism parade, dog, and pony show... but instead I admire the way that you are not intimidated by the well seasoned educated purist and fine artists on this forum whom disagree with you. You will be a success, no doubt. Carry on, Aunt Mark | |||||

| Thanks for the comments Leif | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | LCA | General discussion | |
| Thanks for the comments Leif and difeliciantonio...I know the back is an atrocity and I simply cannot put the hallingdal on it and perpetuate this incredibly poor decision....however...the guy i got it from says it came to him that way...I am guessing that the back legs were too delicate and 'failed' and so someone put these blocks on as a sturdy lame solution. The weird thing is there are no clues underneath...I was inspecting thinking I could see some old holes or brackets or something but nada....maybe there was just three kind of tenuous peg legs with ... | |||||

| So then.. Sorry for the misunderstanding difeliciantonio, but I still can't wrap my arms around your well made table. My respect for this design must remain with the Eames brothers version. I am old. Sincerely, Aunt Mark | |||||

| . Welcome to the family, difeliciantonio. I do admire that you know how to make an entrance, however clumsy as it seems. Now post a pic of whatever you made prior to this table, pronto. Best, Aunt Mark | |||||

| Chinese successful difeliciantonio, You demonstrate why the Chinese are successful and lack creativity. Congratulations. Please print a $100.00 bill that "not everyone can afford" and try using the excuse "I don't* see how this is dishonest". You may have done well in your "industrial and furniture design" classes, but I am positive you failed the ethics class *you may have skipped the spelling class, it is not dont. Your copy is well executed. | |||||
| Thanks, but where? | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | design_freak | General discussion | |
| Thanks, but where? @difeliciantonio thanks for the quick response. Every where I've looked I've only found them for $350 or more, even for the replica fiberglass chairs. I'm not talking about the plastic ones, which are super flimsy and cheap looking. Those I've seen all over for $80 or so... | |||||

| The shelf unit | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | SDR | General discussion | |
| The shelf unit is Drexel Profile, difeliciantonio ? Wild stuff . . . It's not every day you see something that makes you say "That would look good in an Organic environment." I'm not crazy about the wavy crest rail -- but the idea and overall form are sound. What is the date of your piece do you think ? LCA, mobiles like yours look good when photographed from the floor, with the ceiling as background. | |||||

| to each his own...... ......... Viva La diference ! you are completely within your rights to love overmann...... nothing really wrong with that. if you love it, then enjoy it and use it. bon apetite ! (just try not to directly compare it to, or elevate it to the level of arne jacobsen's work or you will get an ear-full as evident on this thread) | |||||

| to each his own...... ......... Viva La diference ! oh, and in case you wondering who designed the arne jacobsen-esque overmann stuff, it was Victor Shackopoplis.... pictured in the overmann design staff group photo below, 2nd from right | |||||
| I don't know anything about | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | leif ericson - Zephyr Renner | General discussion | |
| I don't know anything about whether there are knockoffs of this rocker or not. However, the chair has to have been re-upholstered, which could account for all manner of seat cushion related diferences (note the front of the seat is not quite "right" either). And the placement of those screws looks more to me like an owner or "professional" furniture restorer/upholsterer addition. In all, given the currently available evidence, I would think that it is more likely it is just a highly debauched example of the rocker. I would study the details of known mar ... | |||||
