| I would be willing to believe | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | leif ericson - Zephyr Renner | General discussion | |
| I would be willing to believe this was made by diethelm Scanstyle, but I am not so willing to believe that N.O. Møller designed it. There is no evidence I know of that he did freelance design work for other companies. And it is not very plausible that he did; he was not a "furniture architect." Also, I would guess the table is later. Not all of these have aluminum rails by the way. I've seen one with wooden rails. | |||||

| hi all, picked up this rather nice table made by girsberger in switzerland and was wondering if anyone knew who the designer was. it's dated from the 60s (as you can see on the photo of the guarantee) and it was bought with a set of four chairs by ernest lauclair. i know that dieter waeckerlin and hans eichenberger were both working for girsberger at the time but this doesn't seem a good fit. i believe that girsberger were also producing pieces for knoll international at this period ... could this be something from florence knoll ? thanks in advance for any ... | |||||

| Thanks @bj, the radio is the RCS9 (also the Atelier 1 with the turntable on top) and is by dieter Rams so is the Regie system that could be wall mounted but needs a wide wall which I am running out of. I have yet to encounter the TS-G by Hans Gugelot and it is probably easier to find there in the EU than here in the USA and probably would cost a fortune if it ever shows up here like my dream acquisition, the Braun Studio 1 hifi unit by Hans Gugelot and Herbert Lindiger. You are lucky to have the Braun PKG3 and G11, these rarely shows up in the USA, I wouldn ... | |||||

| ... its made in Europe (Germany, Denmark etc) or Asia (Singapore, companies like dscan or diethelm scanstyle?) (robertson screws are canadian used after 1968, phillips screws are american) Also has hettich hardware (German) at the dowel connections. (its like a vintage turn key system much like what ikea uses today) There are no maker marks anywhere. I'm trying to figure out when it was made, and where it was made. the blocky style reminds me of the 1980's but the hardware suggests potentially earlier? Stumped.... Help? | |||||

| Sorry That was a little self-indulgent. It's the Mel Brooks movie "Blazing Saddles," a black-and-white western spoof about a frontier town and its new Afro-American sheriff. Madeleine Kahn plays Lili von Stupp, a Marlene dietrich clone, Mel Brooks is the addled Governor (with a big white GOV on the back of his morning coat), and Harvey Korman is the unctious bureaucrat sent to do his bidding. Highly recommended. **** Joe-Bob says "check it out." SDR | |||||

| Classic Modern 'Classic Modern' Midcentury Modern At Home by Deborah k. dietsch is my fave in the coffee table book realm. I refer to it over and over. Look for it used.....still pricey though. Also ' Decorative Art' series done by decades 50's, 60's & 70's and published by Taschen. I picked them up for cheap at Powell's Books in Portland, Or | |||||
| Table by Niels Moller for MobelFabrik or is it? | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | we.r.1 | Identification | |
| I purchased this teak table with two butterfly leaves the other day it is ALMOST the same design by Niel Moller except the legs are L-shaped angles in solid teak and the expanding sliders are in Aluminum. This does not have the sticker that is usually attached underneath (I assume if there was one it has fallen off because of its age) . Niel Moller has designed the same for diethelm Scanstyle..Anyone have ever seen this table before and is it from 1960's? Your feedback is very much appreciated.. | |||||
| Some additional thoughts | 1 Relevance | 19 years ago | koen | General discussion | |
| Some additional thoughts I find it difficult to understand why one would create a gap between for instance the colours black and white and subsequently try to bridge it with a scale of grey instead of with the more than four million colours the human eye can distinguish. It might not be a fair analogy but design and art are part of the same human capacity to creatively improve our lives beyond pure necessity, strict needs or basic conditions of survival. In order to do so, we have collectively developed a wide range of means that in scope vary from simple f ... | |||||

| Pt. 2 If June were to magically come along today, maybe women would feel a little permission to be chubby, rather than be driven further and further into the grips of skinny-ism and the inevitable binge eating that leads to unhealthy obesity and purge dieting that leads so often to tragedy. Female (and male for that matter) film stars just don't look or act vaguely like 99 percent of the persons I meet on the street, in the market, at work, or at the beach. Female stars either look like phenomenal beauties, or freaks. The men either look like phenomenal hunk ... | |||||

| Hi J, Hi J, The chair is attributed to Grossman in Deborah K. dietsch's 'Classic Modern'. I must say I personally doubt this attribution, but I know you know your Grossman very well, so I'm sure you can make up your own opinion on this... In any case, -a nice chair... | |||||
