| Just had one more response to the question, on another forum: "For what it's worth - I have had three bullet planters for almost twenty years, and the plants in them have been there for almost that long. For drainage, I just put about 4" of gravel in the bottom, so that water collects down there, and (presumably) evaporates. Never had any trouble with them - and I am not a plant person. Every other non-bullet planter plant I've ever tried to grow has died on me." | |||||

| The other thing: I have... The other thing: I have only been using vintage stuff. But the stuff keeps failing on me (the amps). My last one I loved. It was a 65' Harman Kardon Award Series A300 integrated amp. Probably only 30 watts (tube), but it sounded great through the Advents. Unfortunately the left transformer died and parts were unavailable. This kind of crap makes me want new stuff in a way. Plus the possibility of having less clutter. | |||||

| No, not really... Untill Poul Kjaerholm's tragic dead, most if his furniture was produced by Kold Christensen. Only a few pieces were designed for Fritz Hansen. In 1982 (he died in 1980) Fritz Hansen aquired the rights to produce the Kold Christensen products. Finally, some wooden furniture has been produced by PP Mobler. In that case to, some were designed for them, some were taken into production after 1982 | |||||

| He has moved to the top of my list... and I had never even heard of him before he was mentioned just after he died. I have frankly never seen ANYONE's work that is as hauntingly beautiful as Sarpeneva's. I have never been to Finland, but I have been to the northern parts of North America and he captures the feel of such places in every one of his pieces in endlessly unprecedented ways. My definition of a genius is not only some one who does not imitate others, but who does not imitate himself. Great genius has two distinct dimensions. First, it is forever wo ... | |||||

| cont. This is the fatalistic attidude of people are defenceless against the stupidity of the ones in power, and have seen this for many generations. Alow me another exemple of this difference in attitude and expectations. About two months before I was born the place were my parents and older brother lived was bombed, for no known reasons other than that a number of U.S. pilots and other flying personal wanted to have some extra time above occupied territory in order to be elegible for Eastern holidays with their families in the U.S. It killed close to 2000 ... | |||||

The company initially produced boats, then switched to furniture. It produced furniture until 1993 when Mr. Goldman was sued (and lost) by the EPA for environmental negligence. He paid a $15,000 fine, and took out a full page apology in local papers as his punishment. A year later the Plycraft Co. at 139 Canal St was set fire to - aparently by a homeless man. NK's reputation was such that they did not "need" to promote the fame of their designers. In spite of that both Svedberg and the very talented textile designer Astrid Sampe became known figures in the scandinavian design world. Svedberg was the son of a Nobel price winner in Chemistry and one of the important figures in the development of rubber and plastic research in Sweden: Theodor Svedberg. | Gaudi was known for... challenging streetcar drivers. In his opinion pedestrians should have priority. It would have been nice that he was admiring the Sagrada Familia when hit,but he was walking in the opposite direction (he came from the S.F.)So, on June 7th 1926, he was walking down carrer Bailen toward the Corts Catolanes. Just after six tramway 30 hit him.He died three days later from the consequences of the accident. When you see the models their does not seem to be any doubt that this is the original, but I realy do not know with any certainty. | |||||
