| Yes, certainly. And keep throwing it in the face of anyone who dares to suggest we haven't suffered enough. Keep the pain alive, indefinitely -- it's the least we can do. Grieve, endlessly, for what was lost. Don't ever let anyone forget the suffering. Sue someone because your twin died at the World Trade Center. It has to be someone's fault; someone owes you something for your pain. God forbid we should pick ourselves up and move on . . . | |||||

I need this resolved before spring. I hate the idea of babies suffering and dying because their parent died after hitting my window. Thank you for the suggestions. I was hoping to hang some mobiles off the overhangs that I could look past when looking out the glass. If I cant find any, than I guess it will be stickers. I would rather have the ugly stickers than dead birds. ...

| If the finish is paint, I... If the finish is paint, I suspect too much action or fussing in one area is sure to affect the finish in some way no matter what you use... In the past I've ruined a few things with a hasty decision, something that survived for 50 or 60 years died at my hand, so whatever you do approach with caution and think it through ... added: I have had great success removing stubborn adhesives using a biodegradable degreaser called Pedros Bio Degreaser. Water based and water soluble. Will not harm painted or plastic finishes. Available in ... | |||||

I think that Kofod Larsen deserves having some scholarship devoted to him, and I hope someone in Denmark is working on a book about him. As far as I know there is very little information out there about him that is in print, and I have only ever seen one tiny little photo of the man himself. http://www.furnituretoday.com/article/532080-Robert_H_Wexler_former_pres...

| . I agree entirely, the carpet that always shows up in photos I take here was given to me by an aunt in South Africa who died of cancer a few weeks ago, is it weird that when I clean it I think of her and how funny she was...its just being human and I wouldn't lose that for anything, its a continual reminder of my family which I'm apt to be insensitive to otherwise. What is so rich to me are not just the forms but also the colours, Virtually nothing is as varied and saturated as the colours in a flower petal or other orgnaic thing (its actually sub surface ... | |||||

Later Usonians could be larger and of varying materials; Wright died in 1959 and built scores of houses in the 'forties and 'fifties, many of which can be called Usonian. The Usonian Automatic, appearing in the early 'fifties, is much rarer in the oeuvre, and always appears as a concrete block design with the characteristic beveled and (sometimes) pierced block construction. Even the flat roof is usually made of concrete, and edged with a special patterned block. http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Usoni ...

If they did, would those be "originals"? The company was acquired by Proventus in 1992; are post-1992 chairs less original than the others?

| Re: Ox It wasn't re-upholstered in a bad way - just done poorly the first time around. As always with Modernica, the quality is as dependable as the weather. I would love to own a real Ox. Even in pictures I can see the quality is better. But in the meantime this one is the placeholder...or until the next best thing comes along. While it's not nearly as cushy as the Eames it IS nice to be able to flop into the chair without worrying. My camera died suddenly last week so I'll need to wait to post pictures. | |||||

Eames stuff sold out many years ago to schools and many homes, then it died down and now its back again. Even though its popular its still some of the greatest designed materials and furniture ever made, according to many people, and museums. I know they are not the greatest out there, and there are some designers eve ...

| Here's an example Here's an example of what I was talking about I was commissioned to paint this for a very dear friend of mine whom died not long after I started. I was already in a 'midlifecrisis' space and travelling when I learned of her death. I finished it within 12 months of her death and me getting 'my shit together' It's not normally what I would hang on my wall because it's a copy of a very beautiful and important work but nonetheless it is sentiment when my memory alone will not recall | |||||
