| I had a somewhat similar situation when my father died - that is, if you're looking to donate. I think I gave a set of 90 issues of Design Quarterly, from the Walker Art Center, to Art Center here in Pasadena. I'll check my notes to be sure, if you like. Right now, I'm trying to find someone to take a catalog (pamphlet, really) of an Akron Art Insitute design show - Akron (now) Art Museum will take it, but without any real interest. Whatever you do, check with the librarian first. My father donated a bunch of books to Parsons, where he taught, and later dis ... | |||||

| Your work deserves wider exposure. Keep it up ! As a kid I coveted the 8" white globe that was the upstairs-hall fixture in our '30s residence -- without knowing how readily those glass globes could be obtained. I finally broke down and took it, replacing it with something else, and incorporated it into a three-legged table lamp, whose shade was a conical rush-work wastebasket I had been given. It remained at my father's bedside until he died, I believe . . . The project kept me busy as I nervously awaited freshman year at design school. SDR | |||||

| cdsilva, I got one of those Braun immersion blenders/food processor things about when you did, though I think mine finally died. Or maybe I just gave it away. I have a new one now but it looks pretty much the same! I also have the little electric coffee grinder which I used for cloves and cardamom, never coffee since I don't like it. It's great. Just got one for my niece to grind cardamom in, too. | |||||

| I'll stick the pics in. I wonder if this was a tenant who was an MCM dealer or maybe just a hoarder, and then he was evicted or died or something...? It's way more furniture than anyone would have as personal furnishings. And I can totally see a building superintendent just needing to clear it out fast and not knowing its value. Very sad. But I'm sure at least some of it will be snatched up. It'd be great if a few restored pieces were posted about here! | |||||

| Right knee (not the wrong knee, god forbid!) OK, I did have some interesting bruises from the shoulderbelt and I wheezed a bit after inhaling the talcum powder that was all over the airbags, one of which was pink and the other yellow, which you will appreciate, Auntie! No darling prints, though, just solid colors. I meant to speak to Volvo about that but I forgot. I suppose it was their Swedish pragmatism at work. Yeah, it died pretty hard. I give the crumple zone a lot of credit. I do miss that car! I stuck a couple of sofas in it with no problem at a ... | |||||

People will refine and move up the ladder on the scale of condition and rarity, so we will see people getting rid of things they got at the beginning of their decorating/collecting and acquiring more expensive things. So if you think in terms of your repeat customers "refining" and what they will need, you will find sales there. Another positive thing for the market is the rebirth of downtowns/high density housing. People are moving into smaller urban spaces. MCM suits that style of residence better than any other. There are A LOT of those "new urban ...

He was born 10/12-1922 and he died 28/04-2006 Thorsbjerg is the name of the place where my grandfather Christian Jensen was born. Regarding the spidertable I can tell you that I remember my father worked on the prototype for several nights before a visit from Mandy Selig (Mendell M. Selig). He came once a year sometimes together with Bob Wexler. Mandy Selig have had polio and was walking with 2 cruthes, so if was a long trip for him. Specialy the legs of the table were difficu ...

| I think it's a Marc Creates. Let me see if I can find a link (the old man died but the family still makes his designs). I have a smaller, but similar, one over my mantle. The labels are usually on the back and are pretty small, smaller than a postage stamp and NO, you did not pay too much.... http://marccreates.com/gallery.shtml#1 | |||||

| thanks all! A few months back, in the hottest part of summer, a rodent died in my office over the weekend. It was a smell I will never forget, so I do suspect its more of an old house smell rather than dead mouse smell. I'll get air sponge from Amazon and convince the owner to crawl back and check for leaks. The Pacific NW is beautiful, but yes, very damp and moldy! | |||||
