| ... that would severely devalue the chair, and as a collector I really like the crunchy deep black on the old 670s. Not to mention that I really do believe that it is more comfy then the newer ones, I just sold my new one cause I needed the money. I could never part with it, but now that this one was found I didnt feel bad about letting the newer one go. I was just sent a few pics, they replaced all the buttons and the refinish of the chair looks beautiful so far... Ill be sure to post some soon! | |||||

| the description ... under: General (not furniture) It was titled: Old Black Leather Chair the Description said nothing of it being Eames and they didnt even spend the time to look up Herman Miller. Even though it is still labeled, on the bottom. The add said exactly this: "was going to put this in the kids room, but its slightly to small of a room for this long of a chair, this old leather thing needs to go!" a simple sorry dad after it aswell. when picking up the chair, I did notice her laptop open to ebay, and she was looking at them online... | Is this one authentic? | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | MadHaus | General discussion | |
| Is this one authentic? Im pretty familiar with the br51/br50 and got two older stools with that, i recently purchased this tulip chair from a couple that came from france, they said that it was knoll and they purchased it there. when i bought it at the tim didnt know the way to look for authenticity. just know the right shapes of the seat which many knock offs dont get right. anyway let me know what you think.... heres some pics (there is a knoll sticker on it but that doesnt say much, there is also a stamp dated 1978 and a control1 marking) also i replaced ... | |||||

| thanks for the post my comment to the seller was nice. I wrote the chair was not a ch-33 not that it wasn't a wegner, since the proportions looked right to my eyes, unlike the one posted above. I didnt start this tread, but find it nice how it has developed:). my own knowledge is fairly limited, so I appreciate the postings. anyway I love and respect many of Wegner furnitures, it also stikes me,, make a small alteration, and the design collapses one would have to be unique oneself, to get away with it ps: so its a CH30 thanks, will post it to the seller | |||||

| thanks everyone for the help thanks a ton guys, i know going with the gut is a good thing, i didnt want that last chair simply cause it felt wrong even though it was right, call me a weirdo, it was a real Eames by HM no doubt but I needed something better and i am a sucker for that new leather smell, i will say i didnt expect the special leather to be so much, so i wont be getting that, i found a company selling new ones with the discontinued leather (8) for 3299 which isnt bad at all. ill be picking one up soon. | |||||

| .... This eames chair is driving me insane, its so perfect, and has to be a real eames lounge chair, even said by the classic specialist that it was real, but it has a few little things that many people havent seen before just like this spider base. also didnt have tags on it, i know they fall off, but there wasnt even stuff under the cusions i had the guys at DWR so confused they have never seen anything like it...\ Uploaded with ImageShack.us | |||||

| Kent Coffey The foreteller I just purchased a 6 piece set for 250.00 used of course. I didnt know anything about the brand just liked the way it looked. As I was waiting to get it loaded up people were stopoping asking me how much I paid and telling me I got a steal. One lady was mad because she didnt see it first and told me I would be able to re-sale it for 3 times that much. It is beautiful and I intend to keep it. I was in the right place at the right time. | |||||

| thanks. i know what you are... thanks. i know what you are saying about the antiques roadshow, but i didnt buy the chair to make money on it later on. i got it to use. i got it for 250, and the fact that someone had already done a botch job many years ago on restoration, i did not think a second about sanding it down. i'd rather have a smooth slate than the tiger stripes left on it. i'm not worried about the value of it, it's for my own pleasure and aesthetic... i'm sure ill get the money i put into it, if not more honestly. the chair was a steal in m ... | |||||
