| Mark, nice try on changing... Mark, nice try on changing the topic. With an attitude like that, you really didn't think I'd grant you the last word, did you? I'd like you to point out anything that I said that was inaccurate. As for your statement--"Genetics are part of who we are, period"--nothing I said contradicts that. If you're going to insult me and then one sentence later talk about "respect", please do me the favor of actually reading what I've written. Also, I find it funny that you're making goofy assumptions about my religious beliefs. And 420 has ... | |||||

| ... of everything to the cost of a lap dance, Shooter, well, your criticism is just so rich! So cutting! You caught me -- but I was quoting Radiohead instead!! I'm a fraud ... so embarrasing! Truthfully, I didn't realize I was being "smart"; and if I was, gee, sorry -- didn't mean to be. Should I use smaller words, or type s-l-o-w-e-r? Ad hominems aside -- but fair is fair, since you started this game with your juvenile name calling -- the fact is that MoMA, like all institutions granted non-profit status, does receive public funding in the form of its tax- ... | |||||

The deux-chevaux Citroen, marvelous in the many ways described by Koen (add: mechanically-dipped headlights) didn't prepare us for the shockingly modern DS19 when it appeared in 1956: Frameless window glass! Fully-foam-rubber-cushioned interior! (Rumored) translucent fiberglass roof panel! [See "The Tenth Victim" for one with a transparent blue roof.] Single-spoke steering wheel! Self-jacking multi-ride-height Hydro-Pneumatic suspension! Madness! Mark: Good stuff. Sandford refers us (via ...

| Although I don't have one... Although I don't have one now, I do find ceertain cars visually pleasing. In my description of what I want I said 'simple design'. What I meant was a clean overall design. I huess I didn't say it loud and clear. But also, I need it to function correctly. I have become more of an aware consumer and personally for me form follows function. See, being in a band I need cargo space, so the last car I bought (whcih I dont care for visually but it did the job) was an Isuzu SUV. Now, I would rather get a wagon with great gas milage. It h ... | |||||

| ekornes? on the audio forums, lots of people "speak" highly of the Ekornes stressless chair. I tried it and didn't really like it. I love the look of the eames lounge chair but if you are a serious audiophile, there are two things I would comment about it (if you aren't an audiophile, you'll probably just ignore these): first, it's a pretty low seat, so be sure that it won't put your ear too far below the optimum height for your speakers; second, check where your head/ears are in relation to the leather headrest as leather can be reflective of the sound, an ... | |||||

| This is the table I got I, too, needed a small table. I also wanted a round one, as opposed to a square one, because I didn't want anybody to walk by the table and accidentally hit their leg against one of the squared off edqes. This is the one I got. Though made to also be used outdoors, I've found it to be a great indoor table, too. And low maintenance. http://www.retromodern.com/item_detail.asp?5508. | |||||

| Hah! Now why didn't I think of that? I suspect that head pattern was chosen because it looks "less like a screw" than a slotted head would; maybe also to foil little Ogveld from playing a joke on Grandpapa with Mommie's kitchen screwdriver. . . | |||||

| The solution Actually, the bolts on my chair are supposed to be flush; I suspect that the person who assembled the chair in the picture didn't bother to drive them in all the way. On the suggestion of someone at the hardware store, I ended up using a pair of needle-nose pliers. However, instead of squeezing with them, I used the rounded outer surface of the pliers to make contact with the bolt. They go in pretty easily, so I didn't have to apply too much torque. Worked out very well, and the chair looks fantastic (especially with the bolt ends polished like ... | |||||

I never once insulted you or your intelligence (or that of anyone else in this forum). You can claim otherwise, but it didn't happen. Go read the thread again. Better yet: save it and read it in a month. I don't think there was a way I could make my point that you wouldn't have found offensive. If you don't want people to question what you think, guess what? Don't post it on the Internet. --- And with that, I ...

| ... I do believe that this would solidly qualify. In my opinion, many Christians (and others of various groupings, including homosexuals) believe and do dumb things of varying /lockstep rigidity, more or less. But my concern is that this "dumb thing" affects ME, a non-Christian. I'll break it down to this; "Because THEY started it; that's why." If all of this is too broad a generalization for you, then I really don't care any longer. You simply come across as a instigating smartass, looking to pick a fight over minutiae; and I believe that you damned well know ... | |||||

| Part 2 Re: crankyd "You last wrote: [...] Clever? Witty? Smug? Childish?" My last comment wasn't primarily directed at you--it's why I changed the pronoun, but my fault for being too lazy to slap a couple of carriage returns in there--but regardless, I don't think my comment was any of those things (especially clever or witty). I've had plenty of opportunities to take cheap shots or draw extremely unflattering parallels, and I haven't resorted to any of them. As I mentioned above, I don't get your epilogue at all. | It's OK I love my tub so I don't mind showing it off a bit. We soak in that thing until our toes are completely shriveled. It is such a supreme way to unwind. It's best in the spring/fall when we can look out at the koi pond. As for it falling through the floor, it would have if we didn't have 2 lally columns and a sistered floor joice added. We had to have a structural engineer draw up plans, get them approved by the town and then the tub could finally go in. To top it all off the location of the tub is right over the main chase for all of the electric, pho ... | |||||

| concrete tub I had much of my house flooring gone over with ardex (self leveling concrete), and one of the kids installing said he did a bathroom (shower and tub)with it. I guess there is an adhesive that will etch existing tile, and he would go right over it with concrete. I thought real hard about it, but am glad I didn't, because although he was a nice kid, and very knowledgeable, and helpful, he botched my floor! His boss had to come in and redo the whole house! | |||||
