| ... depression, ideology and war). and then didn't impatient Americans tire of it by the mid 60s? So, isn't it actually the Europeans, who may have innovated much of the angularity and externalized structure of modernist design, that later followed the American popularization of it? And didn't the Europeans subsequently sustain the style after impatient, quick change Americans abandoned it? And now isn't it that Americans are rediscovering their own Mid Century Modernism rather than importing it from Europe? Or am I misunderstanding the geneology of modernism? ... | |||||

| I didn't mean to spawn... I didn't mean to spawn serious talk here. Are you sure it's 30 percent of women....or is it 30 percent of murdered females are by inimate lovers instead of 30s percent of all women.... Rugs are a hard thing to decide on. They are massive enough to either make a room or it's just as easy to tire of a rug as soon as you get it. I tend toward neutral on rugs, unless it is a very well thought out solid color. I also like oriental rugs with modern furniture. I don't like grass rugs.....too itchy for my bum and toes. | |||||

| ...didn't scientists finally... ...didn't scientists finally figure out that flatulence from cattle herds are the primary offender (pun intended) in greenhouse effects? Me driving a car with a large, gas guzzling engine my entire life is less offensive and destructive to the planet than a single lap of a professional auto race. I wonder if anyone's done a scientific experiment on the harm done during a Formula 1 race, Indy 500 or one of the NASCAR races. There are so many other factors involved like terrorist activity that destroys major oil pipelines, shipwrecks where millions of barrels of oil are dumped into the ocean, etc. Again, me driving a muscle car....not that big of a deal. So, to answer your question...it never crosses my mind. later, m | |||||

| Gosh Koen, I didn't realize t... Gosh Koen, I didn't realize that the cylinda line was from 1967! There is something to be said about timeless beauty. Another favorite from the early '90s would be the Knoll de Armas chair by Raul de Armas. It is destined to become a classic, and I like the fact that you don't see to much of it in the mainstream. Olive, I also dread the next 4 years. This is not a proud moment to be an American. | |||||

| didn't work? I got a syringe with a fairly wide 2 1/2" long nedle and "weld" brand clear epoxy designed to bond to both pourus and non-porus surfaces (since I ccan't clean out the opening), but the epoxy is way to thick to squeze through. Any suggestions on a thinner (yet strong) adhesive. | |||||

| Ah - silly of me, I didn't lo... Ah - silly of me, I didn't look at the posting page properly. Thank you. I didn't provide much context for the question I guess, but (a) the wife (whom it is for) has tried them and loves them; and (b) it's for a living room which has some nice pieces in (De Sede leather chairs from Switzerland, the forthcoming Balzac, a beautiful cherry wood desk from Heal's) and is intended to serve as a desk/office chair without looking too "office-y". Perhaps the Eames aluminium chairs fail the latter test, and I agree they are ubiquito ... | |||||

| 3 months ago I didn't know anything about web design I bought a 800pg book on flash. And 3 months later thats what came out. I do agree it is kinda busy, but again it was my first attempt. The next site I make will not be as busy. But for a first timer, I don't think its all bad. I do believe my stuff is art though, wether its your taste or not. | |||||

| I didn't mean to say only... I didn't mean to say only neutral color. What I meant was that many people are afraid to use neutral color (for fear of being too traditional), and on top of that color in general. | |||||

| mpls, It isn't difficult to... mpls, It isn't difficult to attach Bookworm to the wall though it might be a good idea to follow the instructions about when to peel off the protective plastic film - I didn't read these properly It comes in a box, rolled up, so is under quite a lot of tension, hence warning. You need to have another person to hold it in whatever shape you want , while you attaching each upright - perhaps even more than one if you buy a long shelf. Good luck. | |||||
