| Gmail I,m not a big fan of technologies, But I have to say that I,m very happy with gmail. I tried 2 and a half years ago, and since then I,m still there. I used to have different mails, first, those you have to pay, then I tried hotmail and yahoo, but wasn,t so easy to use, I don,t know? Why I find gmail ?good?/OK? 1) Space to use 6373 MB., (my wife uses hotmail, but too little space, need to delete some mails, if not the server "autodelete" important mails) sine I,m there, I used 4% of the available space and didn,t delete almost any mail. 2) SPAM function ... | |||||

Neither Eames, Nelson, Jacobsen, McCobb, Knoll, Saarinen, Bertoia or any other designers specially designed stuff to be difficult to use. They spent months and months perfecting their designs and used materials that were appropriate and possible ...

| "Buyers will only be able to receive positive Feedback." Yes, it's true. In other words: if a buyer fails to completely read your item description and complains about whatever they missed, OR leaves you negative feedback because he/she didn't like how much they were billed by Customs, because you refused to lie on the Customs forms about the value of the item like they demanded, OR if they complain they didn't receive their item in a week (eventhough they only wanted to pay for surface shipping from US to Japan) OR if they give you a bum check, OR if they d ... | |||||

| Your're right, Lucifer The wonderful book, "The Work of Charles and Ray Eames" goes into quite a bit of detail about Ray's involvement. Based on what I read, here's the summary: - Ray was the artist, Charles was the artitect. - Ray did the bent plywood sculptures early on and it was those sculptures and her personal drawings that were the basis for the bent wood chairs. - Ray was the one into color and probably single-handled designed all of the Eames Fabrics and probably was the primary person behind the color schemes of the Eames Storage Units. - Ray is c ... | |||||

| i stand corrected... makes... i stand corrected... makes sense, though i did first point out the tests mentioned were for waxed surfaces. i still use all the gentle tricks first and test in a small unseen area. and obviously i am visualizing a different problem. i guess a photo is worth a mil when looking for help. i didn't see the problem as raw wood or scratches so deep needing filler. i just always try a gentle approach and never count on formulas. i'll try a couple dozen gentle non-toxic tricks, small quarter size, before using sandpaper or any chemical ... | |||||

| Depends if you need to sell... Depends if you need to sell them ASAP, I sold several items on Ebay that went for way less than actual dealer price. For me it didn't matter, as I needed the room. Again, if you can hold off then wait otherwise maybe finding a consignment shop, ebay or Craigslist. You should also know asking dealer price may not get you a quick sell. Just a thought. | |||||

| ... kitchen for quite some time - it was the largest model, too wide for a standard install so we would have had to move/cut countertops and cabinets to use it. So we decided to get rid of it. Not even modernist friends who had the space would take it though, opting themselves for new and/or gas. It went to a great young couple with a big Arts & Crafts home, big A & C kitchen, should have looked totally out of place but it didn't, which is usually the case with regard to good design. And when I run into these folks, from time to time, (out grocery shopping just ... | |||||

| ... part is that I waited on it because I couldn't tell in the pics what it was (had junk piled on it), then I started looking at the details, realized my blunder and left work here in Milwaukee early to drive down in rush hour traffic. The worst part was the estate liquidator guy didn't know what it was and had set the cabinets rather roughly on the ground before I got there (the veneer chips very easily). The funniest part was the poles didn't fit in my 2 door Golf and they had to stick out the passenger window on the 2 hr drive home...it was about 40 degrees ... | |||||

| I like those dark suggestions, though a flat black (which I've seen) didn't attract me. Too much like a disused basement somewhere ? The dark slate blue-gray sounds good. I don't necessarily agree that a light tone is the only way to go. Yes, pale color is a good standby. A brick wall painted the same color as the room can look very neat and tailored, or it can look like something found in a much-painted but unloved old firetrap. It would have to do with other details in the space, I suppose. I was just arguing for making use of the existing color for the ... | |||||

| ... the proportions are not always studied and need improvement. When I draw these things, the important thing to me is to record the idea. (This caveat extends even to the finished models, I have to say.) That said, in drawing a table the vital thing is to suitably seat a number of diners. One of the purposes of the tapered ends of most of the designs is to bring those seated into a group that can easily see and join everyone else at the table. This happily coincides with what appeals to me in terms of form. A plain rectangular slab without relief of any ... | |||||

| Lucifersum... I haven't... Lucifersum... I haven't really followed the Nelson original vs repro clock madness on the forum lately, but I actually thought Vitra only recently (in the 90's) started to make the Nelson clocks. I know they had the European rights (together with NK in Sweden and Hille in the UK) to produce Herman Miller products since the 50's, but I didn't think they did any of the Howard Miller stuff until much later? | |||||

Seems like they a career out of knocking of current furniture designs right out from under the better known companies. They were worst than the current crop of Chinese counterfit knockoffians.
