| . I like poor people too, perhaps thats vanity 🙂 I hear you about the shoes, unfortuantely its all about fashion, it even extends to watches. The recent trend for these huge rounded rectangular watches with very wide straps (silly looking things) I didn't know a lot of people owned 3 or 4 watches, crazy! I've got a good seiko automatic and that its. Who needs 3 watches? | |||||

| fabric outlet with lots of Knoll They're in LeMoyne, PA which is right outside Harrisburg (scene of infamous nuclear reactor meltdown way back when). I didn't realize how much Knoll fabric they had until I really studied the Knoll website textiles pages. They also have some other good fabrics but Knoll seems to predominate. http://www.pafabric.com/ | |||||

| fakes One big problem on the knock-off benches is the wood color looks way off on most. The All World one we had was way off and it didn't give the same feel as the HM. Even after years have passed, we still regret all the knock-offs we purchased at the beginning. If you jump for the one thats 10% off, make sure it's free shipping and no tax. | |||||

I rememeber years ago I was a security guard at a shopping centre re-furb outside of London and some of the lights pictured at the top were delivered, somehow they got confused with the old lights and me and a bricllayer happily spent some time chatting and breaking them apart into a skip, something didn't feel quite right about it at the time.

| Arrrgghh! I bid too low! I bid on the upper-right one, but I didn't bid high enough (the clock isn't working, and I was counting on that to keep the price down.) I guess that's one for the "the one that got away" thread. | |||||

So, yes, if you know what you're doing, you can find nice stuff on eBay. I don't recall all of the prices paid, but, believe me, all of them were bargains.

On one of them a stereotower, the other a bucket wich collects the water from the leaking roof. I paid 5 dollars each. I remember paying almost the same amount for a Planta (piretti) in a secondhand shop not far away. In the same place I bought a Rodica lounge-chair, made by Comfort. I was very young then, the rush of collecting was still very new to me. I recall that I had to phone my mother (yes) to pick it up for me (since I didn't have my license yet), my ...

| Hi Rockland, Those were grea... Hi Rockland, Those were great tips -- I likely have been stretching the tape a bit. Using the clear sealer (or at least the same color paint as the first coat) is such a simple solution. Yet I didn't think of it. Thanks. Just to clarify -- are the first two things you mentioned (blue tape and removing the tape before the paint cures) things I should or should not be doing? I would've thought blue tape would be good (is it not sticky enough?) and that removing the tape before the paint was cured would be bad... | |||||

They're running a business- if it were my business, I wouldn't stock things I didn't want to, and certainly wouldn't tell my customers they can get the stuff elsewhere, it just wouldn't make any commercial sense ..
