Who actually owns this chair on the forum? And where did you find and at what price? I love the stories of objects.. have a nice day! | |||||

| Thanks. I didn't give the inf... Thanks. I didn't give the info a proper look. So, if it is made of fibreglass what's the point in buying it? I suggest everyone who wants to buy a real classic to buy a rattan armchair from Franco Albini. | |||||

| i am happy the ands didn't seem excessive to someone, they just stuck out to me. similar i suppose to the habit of saying 'um' in between sentences. your comment about low price not being enough to buy something is interesting. I will pay whatever it takes to get something i need. But not quite that much for something i only want. and another lamp, no matter how interesting it is, is only a want. I also grew up in Winnipeg, notorious for cheapness, something i struggle with daily running a high end furniture shop. | |||||

| Just in case you didn't know why.... this picture had to be used. The Eames Foundation has seriously strict control of any images of Charles and Ray. And if you sell fakes, you definitely ain't getting permission from them. I wonder where this photo is from, a teacher from an old high school yearbook perhaps? | |||||

| I see it didn't to the one I... I see it didn't to the one I picked. They have many, many awful ones with logos. They have two I like that are completely devoid of decoration. So what do you think: khaki, army green, or black? I sort of like army green.... | |||||

| Link didn't work well So I just googles Pegasus Ekornes and was rewarded wtih several photos of an unattractive sofa. Sorry, dc, just can't go ther ewith you. But I do respect your demand that furniture be comfortable. I agree 1000%, but I need the aesthetics to be there for me too...and this one ain't it. | |||||

| I didn't think the 1700-2000 price point was unreasonable -that's pretty much the price of a standard sofa at C&B or Room and Board. I did look on ebay for quite a while before I ended up purchasing mine. With shipping and reuphostery, the price of a hvidt or wegner daybed would have been about the same as what I spent at Daniel Donnelly. (The Wegner daybeds, in particular, are very nice - I would have gotten one from ebay but for the fact that that it was too long.) Also, there seems to be a lot of people looking on ebay for eames/mid-century modern daybe ... | |||||

| Dividing the forum in sub-sections. As SDR says, this is 'the most handsome discussion board format I've seen, by far. I'd hate to lose that.'. So if it works so good as it is, you have to be careful. On the other hand, 'ordering of subjects can be through the use of the search function', I think it worked in the beginning, but today the quantity of threats it's so big, and makes the forum so 'rich', that DO needs some other ordering tool. It grew as much, that needed changes. Dividing the forum in sub-sections, a long time ago I' been thinking this could ... | |||||

| nice faits divers in belgium they planted trees, so called 'freedom trees' while occupied by the french (napoleon), being occupied by the dutch and by the independency of belgium in 1830. In 1930 in more then 200 towns in belgium they planted another 'freedom tree' to celibrate the 100 years of independency. nowadays stil a lot of these trees are standing. but almost nobody known why, it are plain simple trees that you passes by each day. | Didn't you mean to say...'udderly' wrong? snicker snort giggle... sorry couldn't help it. You wrote that interesting Einsteinian tidbit and I glommed onto the pun... do forgive. I do think the marketing angle, the pleasure and angle and the wealth concept all play a factor here. Humans are by nature, hedonists. We like to feel important and we like our pleasures. Martini's for me thank you...although I'd never turn down an ice cold glass of milk! BTW, my given name is Kerry. | |||||
