| Clearly Daddy didn't love you... Clearly Daddy didn't love you enough or you've actually done all the new rock at the house yourself and only worked when the sun was broiling overhead. See hard work does payoff,, although I guess you have difficulty lifting your arms over your head. Oh LRF you are quite the jokester. And those blue speedos, what do they call them, a grape smuggler suit. | |||||

| Sorry, as I said I didn't... Sorry, as I said I didn't want to preach. But is not a part of design and the discussion thereof its intended use (form and function) and not just how it looks? I stated that I thought the lines might be straighter for a cleaner modern look. I in no way meant to offend. But if you put up a photo of an ICBM missile, (an example in the extreme) it has sleek, cool, functional design, but to not mention at all the ICBM's intended use somehow seems to miss the essence of the design. It may look cool, but it is (the ICBM) meant to kill ... | |||||

| Didn't When I asked the question about the vintage scooter designs I wasn't looking for a debate about the mods.I was asking if anyone had views on the design of these differing brands. These scooters are 20th design icons ,and thought maybe people would have design relate views towards the to brands.I did obtain a wonderful response ,and very much appreciate the view. However; I was trying to avoid a rumble on the beaches of Brighton. | |||||

| I didn't buy it... My parents bought it as a birthday/graduation gift. I know they didn't spend anywhere near $1200 for it. I'm assuming they spent $250-$300, but I'm not going to ask since it was a gift. It's a nice daybed even if it is a knock-off. I would love to have an original but it's not in my budget at the moment. I'm still paying off my car and my school loans. Most of my mid-century furniture came from my grandmother with the exception of some Cado cabinets that I happened to find just recently at a thrift shop ($25 bucks each), a really coo ... | |||||

| Robin, I know you didn't me i... Robin, I know you didn't me in particular but still I wouldn't dream about judging LRF by his personality. I mean, you can't be a complete idiot AND have such a nice, talented wife, I'm sure 😉 I don't even know LRF well enough to perhaps attack his personality and I don't read enough of the DA threads to know what he's about generally. But I do think that just the title of LRF's thread and the occasional casually mentioned price says everything about his intention with his "anecdotes", And I'm really not a big fan of people h ... | |||||

| setag, I didn't try to... setag, I didn't try to unscrew anything. Too afraid to do it in case they are regular wood screws. But thanks for the suggestion. If two of you say they're Yugoslavian, then they probably are...and I assume you mean they are from the time period of Danish modern, but just not Danish. Does anyone here have a clue as to the manufacturers in Yugoslavia who make these? Thanks so much for offering your expertise. | |||||

| I didnt know Hille made the 670 671, learn something new everyday! I thought that i knew almost every thing about Herman Miller. Some one even asked if I work for the company, Can any one tell me about how long Hille made the chairs.. what years .... and did any one else besides Vitra make the chairs for Eames in Europe . I have always heard there was a European chair and somethings were different( I heard the zippers were different on the cushions and tucked in ) but now I know than ... | |||||

| I didn't suggest extruded... I didn't suggest extruded aluminium! 🙂 I think thats a bad idea, this is a small project and dies etc are expensive, and powder coating isn't the cheapest either, not to mntion cutting all the excess material out, a thick length of tube with an array of ( curved ?)handtapped threads and rods would be cheaper. I was thinking along the lines of a fluted column though, all in white, maybe a bit Fornasetti like? You say you want it to look good even without flowers in it. Or otherwise insert a contraption somewhat like that MOMA frui ... | |||||

| Yep, like a dope I didn't read the label beyond his name... It says Planner Group plain as day. I would never make it in life as a detective...or a designer. 🙂 Interesting that you describe it as watered down. I've looked at the older desk and it actually seems MORE elegantly designed to me. Put another way, he seems to have gotten even closer to the essence of the design with this one. He paired away all the unnecessary frills of the design. Maybe he was cost cutting, or diluting, as you say, but to my eye it actually looks cleaner, leaner, and better propo ... | |||||
