| ... I like this concepts and stuff, Nelson did not give credit along the way, and if you didn't read deeply, you'd think Mr. Nelson designed everything that named him as designer. As an illustration, I collect Jazz and Dance Bands from the 1920's and 1930's on original shellac 78's, and it's interesting that on the Victor and Brunswick labels, some bands listed their vocalists who sing the refrain, while others are simply listed as "with vocal refrain". Two of the better Dance Orchestras was George Olsen and Isham Jones. Olsen nearly always had his vocalists l ... | |||||

I guess I just got over excited seeing models that were not repros, something that I had never seen in my lifetime in the U.S. The shipping fee is cheap because it is via a ship which takes 3 months (HAHA!, It cracked me up when the guy said 3 months). So, I suppose I will just stick with buying a Nelson clock for $235 and take it in my suitcase when I go home.

| My My...the conversation can get heated. My DWR is populated by nice people who would not ever offer me a steep discount or floor model, believe me. Indeed, whenever I've been in there, they were often busy on the phone. I'm not saying they're rude, but busy not into a level of chit chat that would create an environment that might clue me into a special deal. Also, in the past, DWR's showroom people were not especially helpful when it came to products by the lines they handle that's not on their website. Their website, by the way, has the most narrow pre-s ... | |||||

| Hi I have exactly the... Hi I have exactly the same problem and trying to find a solution too, that's how I found your post. Apparently the best solution should be the 3M 5200 in black. I tried epoxy before and didn't last very long, so I will try this one and let you know ! | |||||

| MOJO INTERIORS ARE A NIGHTMARE! We ordered two chairs from this company back in August 08 and we are still waiting!!!!! We have been fed nothing but lies (about the products being on their way) from day one and each time there is a different excuse. How can a company like this still be going??? I usually steer clear of copies and with good reason but this was an order for a client who wanted the look but didn't have the budget. If it was me I would have canceled the order a long time ago but we feel a bit tied in now as we had to pay in full! Definitely s ... | |||||

| I';m confused between the rare original (it was not a best seller) and the recently re-released edition from Herman Miller, I've never seen an unauthorized "reproduction". When Herman Miller introduced the bringing back of the Swag-Leg(ged) group, I didn't read any structural or design alterations they were planning for the desk or table. I know, of course, that HM was going to use the current environmentally acceptable plastic for the chairs (instead of Fiberglass), and I know that had serious problems with the black and grey colors. I've never seen a vint ... | |||||

| Real is real is real is real Olive; Herman Miller never manufacturered Aalto pieces; during 2002-2004, they simply arranged with Artek to distribute select Artek pieces into the US. This shouldn't be difficult to understand; Artek didn't have good distribution in the US prior to the Herman Miller deal. Now that the deal has ended, Artek does not have decent US distribution again! As stated earlier, all that Herman Miller was trying to do with their clever, high styled video was to promote geniune Herman Miller-made products as being superior to the knocko ... | |||||

| To me, in terms of design or furniture, an elitest would only want to have the most expensive furnishings around them. Fritz Hansen, due to their prices, I'm afraid falls into that category. My tastes in quality mid-century design was formed by a very good friend of mine; I didn't like everything he liked, but his taste influenced me. After years of having a few good pieces but little money, when I was in a position to finally buy a decent house and furnish it,I started collecting a lot of good books to remind me of the stuff I've seen over the years, learn ... | |||||

| Poang research! I found it---and I was wrong, it didn't win an award, it just was so popular that it was made for a long time. This is from the book "Scandinavian Design" by Charlotte & Peter Fiell. I remember being surprised to see it in this book and I guess over time that translated in my memory to having won an award! Sorry about that. Here's some early stuff, including the first cover of the IKEA catalog. (They sold general merchandise at first, I guess like Sears, then switched to inexpensive furniture and housewares for the masses soon after.) | |||||

| Metro Retro in Houston had it in black for $595.00 and he had it up on eBay's "but it now" for two months or more and it didn't sell. Metro Retro took it off eBay and now has it on their own website. So, they couldn't sell an intact one for $595.00. One covered in formica might be even less saleable.... | |||||

They used to have a really nice pendant fixture called "Qvintet" that was frosted white glass (maybe even cased glass) in a simple upside-down bell, nice size, good proportions. I didn't have any place for it in our current house but we did put it in the vestibule of the house we owned in Denmark. Last, this shelf unit thing, "Anga", is in our family room where we needed something light, tall, wide and shallow. It ...

| Pegboard, thanks. I also... Pegboard, thanks. I also fell for the asymmetry. It doesn't matter if it is original or not, but if it is original, its intended use would be interesting. I like your suggestions. I didn't even know there were celery bowls? Fascinating! The cut out as a way to allow long objects to extend outside the bowl and be more easily grabbed seems the most plausible explanation to me. I hadn't thought of that. And yes, I can see how it could also be more specifically intended for a serving fork and spoon, or something such like. This is use ... | |||||

| Yes, Pegboard There's more. I didn't photograph the assembly hardware. And I am missing a nut and washer. But I'm just going to go to the hardware store and match the two I have to remedy that. However, I think what has been bothering me with this table is deformation to both ends of the cylindrical tube portion of the base. Whereas most of these tables show a clean seam where this piece meets the tabletop and swag base, my table looks a bit ragged at both points. Looks as if someone got carried away with a ratchet wrench and bent each end of the tubing out ... | |||||

| wow I'm glad to hear that the desk top finally arrived. I'm not too surprised, though. I know dealers like this and have heard stories like this, too. Some people are just really disorganized and slow when it comes to shipping. Packing large objects and getting them on their way is a big, unpleasant job and it's the kind of thing that is easy to put off for a few days, and then another day won't hurt, and then another, and then oh well, it's already a few weeks so what's another few days? And then the guy is so behind that he just can't face it at all. ... | |||||

He had no intention of sending it. I suspect it could have been damaged beforehand and he might have uploaded old photos of it so HE didn't lose out in the end. Good luck
