| The two Vitra editions I've... The two Vitra editions I've seen in person didn't have a tag either. But they also had the black painted legs and I was at a dealer's place, so there was no questioning it. Never seen natural walnut legs such as this on a newer Organic chair. | |||||

| like this? It is a nice way to keep that end of the counter clear of stools, etc. This one is tucked into the kitchen area but the same idea. And this one seems polished on top and left honed on the down side. A link to the site is under the photo. If you explore the archives under the interiors section you might find more examples. I didn't go very deep into it. http://www.style-files.com/page/22/ | |||||

| ... Just let me know I'll send it one... 🙂 Short update: Is going well, anyway is the first of a bigger series, and others are developing faster. Material: Aluminium, "mirror polished". (It's true stainless steel too hard to work/deform) The mirror polished it's not as a mirror, but it's OK. I tried to chrome the aluminium, to have a perfect chrome. I made it other times with not so bad results. But didn't worked this time. They said was because the quality of the aluminium, I don,t know. The chrome didn't attached well to the aluminum this time, made some litt ... | |||||

| Citrus strip did the job for... Citrus strip did the job for me on two first generation, Zenith arm chairs. They were covered on both sides with paint. It took a lot of time, as both shells were basically in poor shape before they were painted. I probably spent 16 hours on the pair! The chairs were rough before they were painted, and the paint was in the chair scratches. The stripper did not really seem to harm the gel coat, the gel coat was likely thinned and scratched before the chairs were initially painted. This was proved because the bottom side of the ... | |||||

| ... don't hold a personal vendetta against the company... do you? I hadn't noticed the lack of Corb, but International Style isn't really my thing. I would take a gander that, because Cassina and Flos are owned by the same people, there is probably some correlation as to why both are absent from DWR's web page. Unlike the Nelson lamps. Which - contrary to your ominous ruminations - are still present. As is the Heller dinnerware. Or didn't you check those things before posting? Who knows exactly what is going on with DWR? I don't. And you certainly don't ... | |||||

| bellini chair | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | mimi11 | General discussion | |
| bellini chair There was a manufacturing issue with the Bellini chair. The origin mold was changed about 2 summers ago which led to an inferior product. I personally know of a University who returned over 200 chairs because 3 legs touched the floor but the 4th leg didn't. DWR does not want to be cheap and sell knock offs. They just want a good product and unfortunately the original mold was not available for use. Thats my two cents | |||||

| Yea, I saw this clock too on eBay but didn't bid on it. It does have the hands used on the Bitossi ceramic clocks; perhaps this too was either a Meridian clock or a Raymor clock. | |||||

| ... look and just "okay" manufacturing and design qualities ? one example that i think is gawd-awful is the portola sofa from dwr... what is "modern" or "designy" about this ? its terrible. f minus. no different than any other sofa available at your local "leather barn" that sofa is just a plain pig.... they didn't even bother to put lip-stick on it. and the antica chair dwr sells ? quick, call me a paramedic !! 😉 so though i may have not articulated my point very well earlier, and yes i was a bit rabid and inflammatory..... and i do apologiz ... | |||||

| noted. sorry, i didn't mean to be inflammatory or offensive. thanks for the feed-back. love, -chewy UPDATE - you must really be worked up whitespike because you keep editing your last comment and getting more rude and aggressive each time. you will see that i made the post above in an effort to be civil and kind, but clearly you do not deserve neither kindness nor civility as evident by your last comment: " It's not your opinion I don't like ... it's you." maybe you should go outside and walk in the grass and reconsider being so nasty. resulting to personal ... | |||||

| I was considering staying... I was considering staying with a green wool for the upholstery, but a different darker shade. Perhaps a kvadrat fabric. I didn't mention that it's also on casters, which is kinda cool I think. Thanks to those who responded. Even if you don't know the answer, any input is appreciated. | |||||

| Oh, i should mention that... Oh, i should mention that when I said "bathroom cleaner with bleach in it" I didn't mean an abrasive like Comet or Ajax. I meant those liquid spray bottle cleaners that you might use in your shower or something to bleach out mold in the grout. I think Clorox makes one, but there are others. | |||||

| . My gut still tells me that it is Craft Associates, based on comparisons of close-up photos of how the base is constructed in these two photos. I've seen other photos of the webbing on known Pearsall sofas that matches the webbing on mine. I've also read that they did some limited production runs and often re-used bases in various incarnations. I was just looking for confirmation from some furniture obsessives here. Other than satisfying my OWN obsessive nature it doesn't matter. I didn't buy it for any "name" or monetary value. I just like the design. | |||||
| JMC Trading/Barclaycard - As bad as each other? | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| ... poor quality. JMC Trading agreed to replace 4 of the chairs and collected them from me. A year on, the chairs have not been replaced and I am about £1400 down. JMC's courier company did not leave me with any paperwork and Barclaycard will not help me because I do not have this proof of return...Can Barclaycard really believe I'd spend a year arguing over something that didn't happen??? - they're just using it as an excuse.... Anyway, does anyone know what courier company JMC Trading uses to deliver/collect goods? Perhaps if I can contact the courier company ... | |||||
| I've often been told that my sense of humor is very British | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | Olive | General discussion | |
| I've often been told that my sense of humor is very British Dry and full of Monty Python-esque 'Nudge-nudge' stuff. I didn't mean to be obscure. Posting something that was, as M-Anderson said, 'A waste of good thread', made me smile and I thought it might spark some additional amusing comments to brighten our collective days. There are some very funny and articulate people here and I enjoy their humorous posts. I apologize to those that don't march to my off-beat drum. | |||||
