| Pembroke table? Brian: Do a Google web or image search for: baker pembroke table Do those look like what you have? Some of the hits you'll get from Google are auctions; the two that I looked at estimated the value at $200-300 and $400-$600, but I didn't see any actual closing prices. If you're interested, you can read about that table and the rest of the licensed furniture that Baker makes for the Historic Charleston Foundation at: http://www.historiccharleston.org/shop/licensed.html [edited to correct the name of the Historic Charleston Foundation] | |||||

| #476 I have a dresser and chest of drawers, #476, that are a set. I bought them at a small antique mart in Jenks, Oklahoma for my daughter's room. They had been painted a few times, and when I bought them, they were ivory. I didn't notice the sticker until I started stripping the paint in order to refinish both pieces, and I found this site when I started searching for information on mahogany furniture. They are simple pieces and have an art deco look to them. | |||||

Another option would be to import more Vitra branded things...such as offering the Nelson daybed for a year, or the Lafonda Del Sol chair or table. Maybe they didn't do as well last year, so they cutback costs of development...that's all I can come up with. Lets hope next year its something better.

| Chewy You're right. They didn't design them. But they liked them. Just like they didn't design the Eames house Bird. The Eames office just has these tops with little Eames patterns on them and such.... SO when they run out of Eames stuff to sell that they designed they just start selling stuff they like? Next, there will be the Eames house bucket of chicken. You tear off the breaded skin to reveal the baked-in Eamesian dot pattern on the meat. | |||||

| names ?? i didn't call anyone a name....... you are imagining things. (which calls into question anything else you purport) i cannot believe that folks have convinced themselves that it is actually okay to steal other peoples work. i could offer a convoluted analysis and throw in some historical color to try to sound like i have authority as did the previous post... and say "there" but quite frankly i am not interested in having that conversation..... barney frank said it best last month: "trying to have a conversation with you would be like trying to ... | |||||

But HM didn't ask him and Modernica did. Am I stealing from Herman Miller and the Eameses if I buy something that they not only don't make, but don't even WANT to make? c) I've already bought that dead Eames guy's desk, his big storage unit, his sofa, his plywood lounge, a bunch of his tables, and his coatrack. Is his grandson or any of the 5,000 employees of that hug ...

| paul klee print? paul klee I have the same print. I bought my print at an antique store ~ 12 years ago. I didn't pay much but whoever owned it prior had it expertly matted and framed despite the fact that there is a crease running through the wolf looking back. It looks to me that some of the color is ink and some of it paint. The bright blue looks like paint. It looks like the background is a layer of pink then a layer of aqua and then a layer of green. The trees, moon and wolves seem to be thicker like paint, and these are painted over the background. Wher ... | |||||

| Just stopped by To post a new best-find. PP503. After watching the making-of video I became fascinated with the chair and started hunting around until I found one for a deal. Five minutes in this chair will make anyone a true believer in Wegner's ability. And even tho I didn't pay anywhere near retail for it, I can completely see why someone would. | |||||

| Ah, you must... Ah, you must have the small version. Mine's the large; if I try to lean a cigarette against the side of the bowl at an angle, it just falls in... And even if I didn't mind the filter getting coated in the crud that's left in the bottom of the bowl, the cigarette doesn't stay lit for long in there. | |||||
