| The underside. This is a poor-quality cellphone photo (as usual from me), and I didn't want to take the polarizer out of the lamp even though it filters some of the light... But I think this shows the hairline crack on the underside well enough. | |||||

| Yum A whole different kind of cooking (and eating) than Betty Crocker ever heard of, I bet. . . So, no, I didn't eat like that as a kid in Rye in the 'fifties. . .! Cork platters ? I'd say so -- but a mystery to me about re-use. Maybe it washes fine ? Maybe they store it in sea water so it remains "fresh" ? Gad there's so much I don't know. . . | |||||

| I'd like to see one of the giant trees in Manhattan OK, maybe not. SDR, the iPhone is great -- no doubt about it. My husband has one, thankfully work pays for it, and he loves it. It does everything it claims to do. The problem is, ATT didn't anticipate the amount of data that iPhone users would suck up, which results in spotty service in NYC and a couple of other cities. Here in the sticks, it works fine. Yes, I was a news copy editor for years until I went on extended maternity leave. Now, just three years later, there's no career to go back to. I loved th ... | |||||

Dad didn't do a very good job in keeping to the original design. I'm sorry... I'm not in love with the chairs but doesn't mean I'm going to rip apart this unique house. Edit - I want to add that Dad added ceiling fans, changed the outside door, the garage doors, and the flooring. Everything else is pretty much intact.

| ... lost her job a few years later. Truth is, I was never very serious about buying from DWR, because 1) I am a bargain shopper and used eBay for most of my furnishings, and 2) I didn't want to pay the local tax or the delivery fees. I did buy a brand new square Eames table for my record room in my basement, and I did go into DWR to make enquiries. At first, they couldn't find the square table online at their internal website, and then finally did, but quoted a price above the price Hive was selling it for....so i bought it on line from Hive, didn't pay tax an ... | |||||

| Amazing.... great story koen. So ironic that the chair most closely associated with Panton, is someone else's design. I don't know how I feel about the other chair though. Aesthetically speaking, the word "chocolate" didn't come to mind..... | |||||

| Thanks for the tip Heath I have the Furnitureindex bookmarked, but wouldn't have thought of searching for "three legged" there. I just tried, but unfortunately it only gave two results: the Ant and a Wegner easy chair. Writing the search term in Danish didn't help. Most three legged chairs are apparently not described as such. | |||||

| Boys, boys, boys... Keep your g-strings on. Don't think you learned anything about the inner me. I never said I didn't play a career of hard ball. 🙂 I gave TinyNelltheSellerFeller some digital shock therapy. He has already back-pedalled to "classy." He's learning to be less offensive. He'll be okay. In fact, he's going to grow from this. He's a stick schlepper not used to being spoken to on the internet more harshly than he speaks. Frankly, I spent a career dealing with serious egoes with deep pockets fighting over big money, so... Shock therapy for TinyNell ... | |||||

| . Cheers Rockland, I didn't know you were in the industry. Australians and North Americans have different terms for planers and thicknessers, this is what I want, is it this or the previous model that you use? Its this or an $8000.00 Felder which I really can't afford. It seems the de walt is one of the few machines capable of cutting down these ridiculously hard Eucalypts. | |||||

| I think this is the base you're referring to... I've had this orphaned Eames chair base collecting dust in the basement for years. I've only ever seen a few pictures of it used on anything but the ottoman. Obviously, this one is meant to support a shell chair. It's a shame they didn't use it more widely, but I'm sure it's more cost effective to forego the two-tone finish. Any idea about the production dates, fellow DAs? I can tell you that it predates the screw-in domes of silence (it came with the boot style feet that were also used on the 2nd gen ESU). ... | |||||

In fact I didn't even know who designed them or even what these chairs were named when I acquired them years ago. I have them only because I liked them very much. Do I write as poorly as you say? Perhaps. Have I ever resorted to cursing people out and characterizing them in such a demeaning way as you have to me? Never. Will I do so now, not likely. I work a very very late shift and often when I do post something here it is done very late in the evening or early morning. ...
