| There's a lot of wisdom in that, Gustaf I've decided that my best course of action is inaction...for the moment. I'm going to wait until we get into the space and see how it all feels. I might take a picture of my room minus a coffee table and photoshop in some of the table discussed here and see how they look to me. The Noguchi was never quite right, somehow...I guess that's why I didn't buy it. So we shall see.... | |||||

| Well, no Olive Laminated top so it's apparently NOT glass? ======================== a wood grained laminated top is indeed, not glass. I didn't want a glass topped coffee table. | |||||

| Olive Sorry, didn't realize how much fun you were getting out of saying "No" to each of the 14 suggestions that people had made before I posted. There have been three more suggestions made since your last blanket rejection; I'll step out of the way so you can enjoy rejecting them, too. And no, you're not wasting anyone else's time; I was only suggesting that you were wasting your own. I mean... You say, "I wanted input, I wanted feedback, I wanted support." Well, in your first post, you wrote "the ONLY one I have ever really liked is the Noguchi table", and ... | |||||

| oh Thanks for the link Gustaf. You just helped me identify a couple of my in-laws chairs. I only saw the original receipts from the furniture store in Takoma WA. (the chairs probably have the metal disks but i didn't study them closely). They are of the age where they want to give things away and i don't really want that to happen. We were just looking at their pottery collection and my mother-in-law was telling stories last holiday. Other relatives get jealous thinking we want to score treasures but that is not the case at all...my house is full. Love seei ... | |||||

| ... plenty of vintage originals and the only difference between the old ones and the new ones are clear lacquer on the light birch tone. I have one that's holding about 25 plastic LP size cubes (made by Ingrid) that houses some of my books. It's a heavy load and the bench is handling that load perfectly. The other one I'm using against a window as a seat. I hope that the cabinets Herman Miller's reintroducing will be also available without legs and with aglued-on rubber material for stacking on the benches. I also hope they will use the hairpin legs, as well. ... | |||||

| Why would you want... Why would you want everything in your house to be a uniform color? Isn't mixing everything together half the intention and half the fun? I think you'd sorely regret staining them. When we first got our primavera and black Nelson bench we thought it would look horrible in our living room and were going to sell it but my god if it didn't bring everything together better. | |||||

I intended to research it again, but as you know, there are never enough hours in the day to get everything done, let alone days in the week! Hopefully someone on Design Addict will happen upon this thread that may know who its by? Even though it has relocated to a new loving home, its still great to find out. | |||||
| I like the bugs. | 1 Relevance | 17 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| I like the bugs. Brouhaha aside, I grew up in northern Illinois and some of my playmates had dads who hunted for food. They also had moose and deer heads in their homes. It didn't seem like a big deal to me then and it doesn't bother me now. I would like to be able to shoot some of the deer that eat my garden plants but it's not allowed in our neighborhood and I have never shot a gun anyway. I would not have their heads hanging around, either way. Anyway, what this thread really reminded me of was a visit to a formerly very exclusive men's club in Baltim ... | |||||

| how rare and valuable is... how rare and valuable is this chair? i know some have sold at action for thousands but the skins were in better condition than mine, someone did offer me $1000. for it. other than the skin it is in great shape, the shocks look amazing and sturdy, the guy was the original owner and never touched the chair, he didn't know anything about it other than he had it since he was a kid in the 1930's which he was off by a few years... | |||||
