| ... original communication method -- the one that didn't work at all. Is that about right? Look, I can see that we've gotten off on the wrong foot here, and I might be bothered by that if I thought it would affect my relationship (such as it is) with you. But it won't; if I have something to say, I'll answer the next question you post, too, regardless of whether you dislike puppies or think that "consolidating your interests" via text messages is an effective use of your time. Good luck with those buttons. | |||||

| Wait... You contacted Knoll by sending a tweet? I suggested stealing the buttons because it sounded from your initial post as though you'd already exhausted all the more-reasonable options (plus, who doesn't like puppy pictures?). I didn't realize that you had made only superficial attempts to reach Knoll's parts department. Knoll has over 3000 employees. The Marketing intern who manages the corporate Twitter account isn't in charge of distributing replacement buttons to customers. You should do what people used to do in the old days when they wanted to g ... | |||||

| Sorry My apologies. I didn't read it. I've removed the links now. I would however say I very much promote the idea reproductions. It makes mid century design more democratic and accessible for people who don't have a lot of money to spend. They're not knock offs ether but licensed and members of the eames foundation. Design is not what it used to be. Might explain why we harp back 50 years. | |||||

| Hi, Thank you for your ans... Hi, Thank you for your answers. I don't think it's B.A.G because the ones I have seen that were produced by BAG are from Karl trabert and are differently shaped. I bought the lamp in geneva in the local flea market... but the owner didn't know anything about it.. it cost me 40 chf which is about 30 euros. | |||||

| custom Going the custom route. I have no patience anymore, and if I didn't find a shade within a month, the lamp probably would have migrated to the storage black hole. Nasty place with little chance for escape. LOL. I ordered through Fenshelshades.com on Sunday. The shade will ship tmrw.! I'll post up pics when it arrives. Was waaaaaay cheaper than anywhere else. If they live up to their name with this custom shade; I'll be a repeat client for sure. | |||||

| ... where trying to move old inventory from 08. What I should have explained, is that the hardware wood metals and things come out to the total of 400 dollars for herman miller, and the reason I know this, is because I spoke with a few people at HM when i was refinishing an old chair. I asked them the cost of the "hardware" and they actually told me the total cost of a cowless chair, and didn't think about the leather...so your right, the leather should be factored in. so the chair cost them a mere 1,000 bucks to make, and still sells for almost 4g depending on ... | |||||

| I wonder if hoarders are Freecycle's most ardent users I caught part of a "Hoarders" episode last night-- a hoarder dude actually tried using the "I'm trying to save this from landfill" gambit, in defense of his tottering piles of crap. Why piles of unused crap are more wholesome when they reside in ones living room, as opposed to the local dump, he didn't explain. | |||||
| my CL success story | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | NULL NULL | General discussion | |
| my CL success story I haven't bought too much on CL but recently I had an MCM sale that I advertised there and I got rid of 2 rooms' worth of smalls and furniture and netted $2000! It was all stuff that I didn't need, didn't use, and pretty much didn't want and that my grown kids didn't want. I had to clear out in preparation for moving, which is kinda tough--but that two grand really helped me to get over any regrets. I still have too much stuff, but that's another story. Love, love, LOVE Freecycle, though it kinda drives me nuts when they change their mi ... | |||||

| Can we be nice? Ollie is a respected and knowledgeable UK dealer who I'm very sure spends a lot of time & money researching furniture whether its online or in books. Sometimes though you just can't ID a piece and I think that it is perfectly reasonable to ask, as many others do on this site. He asked politely, it's his first post, he didn't ask for a value - give him a break! | |||||

| ... than berate them for asking which one it is. because let's face it, if people didn't post ID requests this forum would be 50% dead. The smug brigade really need to bog off. I personally have never seen a chair like this, if a dealer hadn't posted it then I still would not have seen it. I don't care whether an object is posted for an ID or any other reason. A new object is a new object. | |||||

| american people are so coooool hey guys thanks a lot for your answers. Your advices are really interestings. Indeed, i've already sitted in a rocker but a Vitra one (i live in Paris,France) and i didn't feel comfortable, but to me the rockers are so beautiful, thats' why i would have loved one. But i have purchased that beautiful DAX Zenith rope edged (elephant grey) and would prefer a lounge position. The DAX,SAX and LAX must be more stable and comfortable than the rocker. But how can i recognize a SAX one ? Is it higher than the DAX ? Do you know where i c ... | |||||
