| Don't think this didn't occur to me. The Air Multiplier seems like the greatest cat toy ever, very Siegfried & Roy. I'd never consider a $300 fan for myself, but for my cat's safety and amusement... maybe. | |||||

| TUGENDHAT LOUNGE ARMCHAIRS...To my distant friends who share a "Love" and appreciation for Mid Century work. Hello everybody, wow how time flies. It has been a long time since my last post to this cool site regarding a shared interest in Mid Century Modern Furniture but more specifically "Tugendhat Lounge Armchairs". I had a gentleman from "Wright Auction" house in Chicago stop at my home and snap several pictures of these two "Tugendhat Lounge Armchairs" as recently as last week. At first this representative from Wright offered me $5,000.00 U.S. dollars for ... | |||||

| Wow, I didn't actually watch it in its entirety until now. At the very end, the "dude" character gives the "hang loose" hand signal to close the video. No joke. I was hoping something interesting would happen, like some wife-swapping or some coke snorting off the keyboard. But no. | |||||

| I didn't mean for a price war I didn't mean for a price war...lol I know what I want and I am generally an impulse buyer and at that particular pulsation money isn't an issue....but should I have to email for a price and wait by the computer it kinda of kills it for me. And I put this out there as it may influence some dealers to give more thought to their buyers as as buyers we have a plethroa of choices Ebay, online auctions, sites like this, and I don't discriminate unless I see POA! And as for the ol' saying of 'if you have to ask blah blah' what a load ... | |||||

| Stupid discussion without context Uggh.. I'm so tired of these blathering discussions where no one pays attention to context. Guess what - fiberglass was NOT the original material. PLYWOOD was. (photo 1) And when that didn't work the Eames went to...wait for it...STAMPED METAL. (photo 2) And only when THAT didn't work, only then did the Eames go to fiberglass. And guess what - the Eames (themselves - in their lifetimes) also changed just about EVERY feature on just about ALL of their chairs as soon as a new material came along that was proven better. The ... | |||||

| I didn't say never the ghost chair is one of his truly good pieces. As is the Hudson chair. And secondly Chewie - Starck *himself* says that his things are not very good. That's his opinion, not mine. Your argument about design being subjective is bogus and unbefitting a first year art/design student. People will always like bad things. That doesn't make those things good. I'm not talking about styles or philosophies - I'm taking about the kind of radical shifts of perspectives that occur throughout history: Palladio changed how we think about space; Gut ... | |||||

| Didn't saw the film. I... Didn't saw the film. I guess is the one linked below. I'll try to see it. I see an interesting issue: the relation legal and ethical (specially when are not aligned (many times)) On the specific of the film, I see that's good for big Amercian audience. But in Europe and other places there are thing much more interesting with almost no promotion/propaganda. There is one unfinished thread related..., I'll try to find it. http://www.garbagewarrior.com/trailer.html | |||||

| Ha ha...I didn't insult nothin', bub | 2 Relevance | 18 years ago | barrympls | General discussion | |
| Ha ha...I didn't insult nothin', bub the chair shell is graceful; the legs are not. It was an award winning, embryo design that was improved upon individually by both Eames and Saarinen afterwards. It's getting old of constantly being thought of as the bad guy, whether you're joking or not. So, (jokingly) put a sock in it, huh? | |||||
