| . Does anyone remember the early days of ebay when you could try and sell anything, the young Elian Gonzalez ? I'm not sure if that was genuine but you never can tell, maybe Fidel didn't have snipe. | |||||

It was probably only a half centimeter out at that.

| deedee I would bet that the bowls go with it. I had a similar vintage Dansk server that came with bowls. Dansk teak was first made in Denmark, I think--later Japan and then Thailand, I think. Not positive. I do know that the earliest Dansk was marked with swimming ducks. This mark is often hard to make out if the marking tool didn't make perfect contact. | |||||

| same artist Guy in sf, I picked up this picture in the local charity with hopes that it was a watercolor or pencil drawing. It was in a frame, so I couldn't examine it carefully, and I didn't have a loupe at hand. When I got it home I saw the dot screen. But it is the same artist as your wonderful find. I guess the artist had enough appeal to warrant reproduction. The only info inside the matt was a pencil notation 'Campagna' possibly the artists name, or the title, or maybe the individual who took it to the framer. Good luck with it! | |||||

| . Hi Heath First up I owe you an apology for not taking you up on your kind offer a few weeks back, so I'm sorry I didn't get back to you. I've been in my head for a couple of weeks. On topic...I believe 'Matt Blatt' has more to answer for than anyone else in this country....and he's making seriously money out of it...but it seems to be the way of the world...not my world. Matt Blatt is a profiteer of Chinese Cheap labour of not- so-cheap copies of 20th Century design icons here in Australia for those unfamiliar. http://www.mattblatt.com.au/ | |||||
| Confirmation from Knoll | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | AndrewD | General discussion | |
| Confirmation from Knoll I thought I would just update anyone who was following this thread with news from Knoll. Francesca from the UK office just emailed me to confirm that Knoll didn't start to stamp their name in to the frames of these chairs until 2003. As such my 2001 model wouldn't have had any stamp. Her view was that my chair is indeed a genuine Knoll production. Thanks again to everyone who got involved and I hope this postscript from Knoll helps anyone who needs to establish authenticity for this kind of chair. Best, Andrew | |||||

| Is this what you mean? The jar part looks like the ones upthread. These didn't sell. It's worth asking the seller if they're still available. If not, it's also worth setting up a saved search on Ebay for "digsmed spice". You can opt for getting an email whenever a new listing is added. http://cgi.ebay.com/Danish-Modern-Teak-Spice-Rack-Denmark-Digsmed-/14055... | |||||

| Hmmmm, Seems to be a moot point now, although I will still do more research --tthe seller reneged on the deal but didn't have the decency to let me know before I drove 1.5 hrs. to her rural place :{ Grrrrr!! | |||||
| It is Knoll | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | Yago7 | General discussion | |
| It is Knoll You can't really see the angle of the back to compare it with the side shot. It looks real and the Matricola tag confirms it. I recently bought a Womb chair which has Knoll printed in the frame just under the arm rest. It also carries the Matricola sticker with 7 and 07 punched. Maybe Knoll didn't stamp the frames back in 01 but it certainly is a genuine piece. | |||||

I started the car and backed up and heard a weird noise. Then I noticed a friend of mine gesturing wildly and STILL I didn't figure it out. Gah. So lame. The chrome base was not bent too badly but still it was beyond repair. The top was only a little damaged and I kept it for a long time afterward and put some other legs on it. Just recently a cleaning lady stood on it to reach something high up and c ...

| My Dad used this percolator when I was a kid in the 'fifties. He seemed to like it. I didn't drink coffee yet, and never had a talk with him about why he preferred percolated coffee. He was a mechanical engineer -- for what that's worth. Revere Ware was nicely made production stainless ware with a copper-clad bottom. We had other Revere pots and pans in the kitchen. http://tinyurl.com/3jze6p9 | |||||

| ... those for various reasons. I've started haunting the Goodwill that is a mile from my new house---but it's a really sucky one and I really haven't found a thing there other than the Danish teak table & chairs for $25 five years ago. BUT. I got this Danish-made teak platform bed on CL last week. I know. It's from the 80s. But I love the headboard with the horizontal grain and the floating nightstands. (This isn't actually the one I got. Mine isn't set up yet.) I had been looking for one on CL but they always got snatched up right away. Finally I just ... | |||||
