| fastfwd again I'm certain that Pegboard has seen more of these lamps than I have, so I'll defer to his more-expert opinion. Noah, I apologize for making that snap judgment; I hope I didn't cause you any distress. I've seen a number of Grasshoppers, and the only non-"T" authentic lamps I've ever seen have a swivel that looks like the one in the photo below, which was also used in at least one of Grossman's other lamp designs. I've never seen a real Grasshopper with a swivel that looks like Noah's, but I'd love to learn more. Pegboard (or anyone else), do yo ... | |||||

| ... Smith Ads looks just like the one Noah posted in the "The last thing you acquired" thread. The yellow lamp looks like the second Ralph O Smith version, which is the most common version to see for sale in the US. One thing which I first didn't notice and which I have also never seen, is the brass cap on top of the Swivel joint. Do you think it might have been replaced at some point when the lamp was rewired? | |||||

| The link to the small photo... The link to the small photo says that it's designed by F Guille & F Height. I didn't know Frank Guille made this sort of thing and I've never heard of F Height before. Anyway, I now think that it is more likely to be a Probber desk organiser. Anybody seen these come up before? Looks superb but I can't find another reference to it on the internet. | |||||

| ... The horn is going to be an unknown, its to small for altec or trusonic. I have seen some early ev stuff as well as western electric that was that size. But for me I have to say its not real. when these era of speakers were custom installed into homes, the speakers were usually covered with a grill usually in a cloth material...because people didn't want their guest to see the audio/entertainment system. | |||||

| Mr Alexander Mr Alexander you've missed my point The supposed seller of these lamps has come here to clear his good name but at the very least he could have written it in French. After Spanky translated it only confirms what I thought and know. What's not clever is that because he didn't have a paypal account he would forgo 20,000 euro....and 3 times! So if I'm the villian here then so be it! | |||||

| sweet dresser sure did clean up well. I didn't buy one last week that I am still regretting (not the same, by any means). Did, however, pick up a couple of my personal passions today, a couple of ANCIENT Ledu swing arm desk lamps. Grimy but oh so lovely. Check out that label "Ledu Wazo". Never seen that before. | |||||
| If the foam in an old one | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | Spanky | General discussion | |
| If the foam in an old one is all dried out, which is usually why people are ditching them, it will have shrunk up and will not have the original dimensions. I can tell you that the one I measured was 3.5" thick in the middle, but I get to take it home and use it for a template myself so I didn't bother measuring the rest of it. Just needed the thickness in order to order latex foam for it. | |||||

| I don't know what that table is, but it sort of bothers me when it's pulled out---looks like someone who can't stand with knees straightened. Without the leaves it's kind of cute. There is a thread somewhere on here called "The one that got away", all about deals that people almost got but didn't, and I think maybe some that people sold without realizing what they had. Best read with a stiff drink in the hand. (ha) | |||||
| Pierre Cardin Cocktail Table | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | TinyArmada | General discussion | |
| Pierre Cardin Cocktail Table I picked this up about 3 months ago or so, but I didn't do restoration on it due to the effort involved in it...then finally gave in two weeks ago and did the hard yards, though I couldn't do it all myself. It looks the goods now, though it is a piece that looks larger in person than what you may think a 4' x 4' table is. The restoration cost a great deal more than what we paid for it, that's for sure. | |||||
