| ... I applied to the usual prone places. didn't take any time all. He never even considered clawing or shredding again. I don't recommend leaving the tape on for more than a few weeks. The stuff really did the trick. We also took an old wooden wine box an stapled a piece of low profile neutral colored carpet onto the flat side. Looked decent and the cat used it always... Good luck! | |||||

| ... On the back : interspaced wood pieces for the back. The 3 and 2.5 foam thickness you gave me seems pretty accurate to me, but would you maintain them now you know the kind of framing, and also the following ? 1 - As for foam, here's what my supplier have : - Seating foam density : I can choose between 35 kg by square meter (medium) and 40kg by square meter (firm) - Back foam density : I can choose between 23 kg by square meter (soft), 26 (medium) and 30 (firm) 35 (very firm) 2 - As for the feeling, I'm looking for something not too firm (but I don't want ... | |||||
| Question to Rockland | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | cadodream | General discussion | |
| Question to Rockland Hello I didn't quite understood from your message if you, in the end, succeed to achieve them of not. If you failed, I might also be interested to know why and at what step of the process. As I said in a previous post, a close family member is in the process of making a unit, and would like to know wether it is a problem of skills (but he has been a very patient, wise and precise craftman for all his life, though he started woodworking only 2 years ago), or a matter of tooling. Let me know, and we'll be happy to share our experience as w ... | |||||

| thank you so much for adding... thank you so much for adding the link. I did have a local carpenter make up the missing middle sections though I didn't know about the part that connects the two sets of extension runners so unfortunately that is still missing and the table has now sold! | |||||

| ... receive straight forward responses. Why the slinging against some and not all, or just not at all? Personally, I go elsewhere to get attributions rather than on here where you just never know who is going to enter in on the thread not to assist, but to create trouble. If someone asks for an attribution, why would people jump in if they can not help? I really didn't see my tirade being anything more than typically what happens to some threads and thought it the norm to belittle knowingly false stories, I mean her story was so far out there I couldn't resist, ... | |||||

| ... loose and it had a larger gap than in the photo, but the other 3 on that side were still fairly solid. To fix it properly, I would have to have pried the other 3 joints apart and I was worried that I would damage the laminated arm in the process, and I just didn't feel like getting into that big of a project. So I just injected some yellow wood glue and clamped it as tight as it would close. It's reversible if I ever decide to dismantle it completely to do a proper repair. | |||||

| But, of course! | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | tktoo | General discussion | |
| But, of course! There's nothing quite like a snootful of vodka to cure one's cotton balls. Why didn't I think of that? When in doubt, have a drink or two and sand it off! As it happens, though, I often end up with more marks than when I started. It does make sense, as rosewood is very dense and somewhat resistant to glue bonds, that the marker might not have penetrated beyond the very surface. I assumed there had been no finish film beyond the typical oiling, but, obviously, I need to hop off this damned wagon in order to see the bigger (smaller?) picture. Y ... | |||||

| Broken shock mount on my eames lounge chair | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | Dun | General discussion | |
| Broken shock mount on my eames lounge chair I got on this forum because my eames lounge's shock mount broke. I was lucky that the back seat didn't break. I"m currently searching for new shock mounts. It seems like people are happy with special k, but my question is do they have the flex and bouncy feeling that the original shock mounts have? A friend of mine had the same issue and he replaced his from an online vendor, but the shock mounts turned out to be very stiff although they're pretty solid. | |||||

| Westnofa I found my original tag for my Westnofa's and here are Eu phone numbers that might help. Tel. 70 25 11 22 and another at Tel. 70 06 10 and a fax 70 06 80 51 I tried to locate the site where I saw replacements and could not find it. It's been about 15 years since I bought mine at a Scandia store in Berkeley. I purchased my second set at a local thrift store and didn't like the color of the cushions. After finding out the replacement cost I learned to love the salmon color. Good luck... | |||||
| I tried that method and was not happy. | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | terryt | General discussion | |
| I tried that method and was not happy. I have 6 Moller 71 chairs that smelled of cigarette smoke and had some dirty spots on the seats, Some of the info I got said not to saturate the paper cord but it is fairly hard not to saturate the paper cord to get the problem areas clean. Since mine obviously had nicotine film on them when the seats dried the sides where i didn't wet left clear horizontal lines. I plan to do over the same seat in the near future,to see if that would take care of the issue, but I'm also strongly considering having them recorded. Do ... | |||||
