| Thank you! My husband will be vindicated as he really did not think it was oak... but the 1963 Herman Miller catalog book we have does not list birch as an option so we didn't consider it! Also thanks for clarifying the series. Interestingly, when we removed the bottom drawer for cleaning, we noticed that the bottom edge of it has been sanded to accommodate the bow in the bottom of the case. So obviously it has been that way for some time! | |||||
| Me too, sweetie! | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | Mark | General discussion | |
| Me too, sweetie! Ok. I'll tell my disgusting tale once again...with maybe a bit more detail. I was invited over to a handsome hillbilly's home for drinks/smokes/food one rainy night back in 2005. He had a dog, but the other guests fulfilled the hound dog's needs. The single level home appeared identical to all other homes within a 3 block radius, and I was a little buzzed whilst making my fashionably late arrival. The "inked up" hunk (host) had a newer spotless Harley Davidson motorbike and an American sedan (dirty) parked in the clean garage. I had to ... | |||||

| first time long time! Komfort-Henning-Norgaard-Table in Rosewood Almost didn't see this. was in 2 pieces and the wood was pretty faded. Cleaned up nicely, though. Top is original but has 2 dings. Have always loved this design. Really jazzed to be able to check one out in person. While I am here - Also got a Remington Rand Sitwel chair. Needs a new seat but still has the horsehair stuffing. Things are pricey. And for me and the Mrs. a Falster headboard. Matches our American side tables to a T. | |||||

| ... pot with lid from the Dansk Orecast line, designed either late 60's or early 70's (ad from the 70's attached). The design is a small version of the flexible dutch oven concept, with the lid also usable as a small pan. The geometry of the cast iron also allows it to work as a double boiler as well. The teak handles of each piece have a semicircular cross-section, which form a full circle with the lid on top. This acquisition will probably go into the "active duty" category, as this size cast iron pot/pan was previously absent in the pot cabinet. The second a ... | |||||

I agreed to see her out the front door and I met her at the elevator. We were introduced, and I was hoping she’d say something very Bette Davis. “I opened the door and she said, ‘thank you,’ and I realized that wasn’t going to work. But when she got out to the top of the steps, she turned to me and said, ‘Oh, how lovely! Black limousines. You know they’ve station-wagoned me to death since I’ve been here.” - See ... | |||||

| hi, thank you so much for the advice and link. It is very similiar piece to the ikea one shown in link and I will look down that avenue. Don't suppose you know what that amount is in pounds sterling. Thanks as well for pointing out it is definately not Arne Vodder, I must admit I didn't think it was but thought it may attract more people to comment. I will restore this my self as I know I can bring this up to look brand new with some wire wool and teak oil. I am so grateful for your responses and will post pictures if you like when I come to restore. Thanks ... | |||||

| Good morning. You'll have to imagine three white strobe flashes from the top(s) of the Sutro broadcast tower; I didn't manage to capture them -- the stars atop my personal Christmas tree; the three wise-guys ? Here is a picture of another, but similar, Karpen of California chair that I wouldn't mind having a pair of someday too...... True story: the picture is of the exact set of Karpen chairs that I had the chance to buy off of Ebay about 2 years ago. They would be mine now "EXCEPT" this auction was during the same time that PayPal was hacked and Ebay was asking everyone to change their passwords. I saw the same show on tv a few years ago but it didn't have any of the electricity of a live show in a small club full of both younger and lifelong fans, all of whom got the many local references. So wonderful. Whatta guy! | |||||

| You'll love this: In my mailbox this afternoon appeared a thick magazine from my alma mutter, RISD. First article: John Waters receives his first-ever honorary degree, and gives the commencement address to the class of 2015. Random quotes: "Think about it. *I* didn't change; society did. Who would have ever thought that a top college like RISD would invite a filth elder like me to set an example for its students?" "Refuse to isolate yourself. Separatism is for losers. Gay is not enough anymore." "Not being around assholes should be the goal of every grad ... | |||||

| I have just returned from A John Waters Christmas and it was pretty much the most glorious, perverted, hilarious, depraved 2 hours of my life! He didn't let up for even a sip of water the whole time, either. And yet he comes off as such a sweet, nice guy! I don't get how he does that but it's just magnificent. His suit was pretty spectacular, too. | |||||
