| This thread was getting unwieldy again. Time for a refresh. Lamps are not something I usually pay attention to, but google inexplicably supplied an image of them when I was trying to identify a japanese teak credenza, and since I happen to know what they are, I acquired them. | |||||

| Picked up this George Nelson for Nessen Lighting pendant Beehive lamp. This lamp was designed in 1969 and i'm told was only produced for three years. | |||||

| The old thread was getting a bit unwieldy at 115 posts so I thought I'd start a fresh one. I just picked up this Time/Life Executive chair in blue hopsack. It cleaned up really nicely and I'm loving the color. It's like having a 670 lounge chair at my desk. I also received the 2012 Select LTR I ordered, just haven't gotten around to posting it until now. Picked up a bunch of various Eames side shells... some in better shape than others, but will be great once given a little TLC. At the moment I'm negotiating a work-for-trade on a standing-height, circular glass Burdick group table. If I get it I'm going to get a set of red Stool_ones to use with it. | |||||

| Juhl/Vodder Judas table and 5 early Eric Buck Chairs. $300 on craigslist. It is tempting to sell it, but I have a feeling it has become part of my permanent collection. On a related but separate note, what ever happened to Niels Vodder? | |||||

| Snagged early in the morning at a flea market in the alley beside our home. I almost burned myself with coffee when I spotted it. Paul McCobb Planner Group / Winchendon. | |||||

| New year, new thread. Plus, TLTYA #17 just crossed the 100-post mark. Playing against type, I spent money on myself today and bought this Herman Miller Embody chair (top) for my home office. It replaces a 14-year-old Knoll Bulldog (bottom) that still works perfectly well, but whose seat foam has unfortunately compressed to the point of discomfort. | |||||

| Pair of early Quistgaard brass candlesticks, for next to nothing (less than $1). And a wrought iron coffee table from the Goodwill with peculiar teardrop-shaped wooden feet, $9.99. | |||||

| Not the $20 deal that jesgord got on his Emil Milan salad bowl set, but $60 for this sterling mounted serving bowl and spoon was not bad. | |||||

| I got a DUX folding dining table at a local thrift store for $100. Normally this store would not charge more than $25 for a dining table, but after I bought it they told me they had to charge more for this one on account of its "probably being Hamish." | |||||

| More housewares from thrift stores today after work: A "Jax" bookend/doorstop for $6, Nissen Denmark concave cutting board $2, Raymor orange ceramic piece (probably W. German) $3, and three small Japanese import items. | |||||

| As part of my anti-plastic in the kitchen campaign have put all the Rosti stuff in a box ready for some friends who aren't as fanatical as me, am going to use the pyrex bowls instead, live alone so only need 2 along with a big glass measuring jug. Yay, less stuff and better! I don't think it's in melamine but out it goes. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/01/100112201341.htm | |||||
| Is this thing comfortable? | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | pantaloons | General discussion | |
| I've been lurking on the board for a while and I don't often have any input because pretty much everybody else on here is far more knowledgeable than I am. Anyway, I know that comfort is subjective, but I've been looking at these for a while and love how they look. It would be perfect in our living room. Right now we have the Craft Assoc. 889s sofa. We had it reupholstered but I think they did it wrong. The work is nice but they built up under the cushion covering the straps and used stiff foam for everything and I just sort of hate it now. I also get bored with furniture and need to change it out every few months to year. So anyway, I would love to hear your personal experiences and opinions regarding the comfort of this Hans Wegner Daybed. Thanks everybody. | |||||
