| ... also came with leather bikini which was a plus. Since i did some research and realized that the chrome option wasn't introduced until more recently I didn't think i would find a PAT. PEND stamp like i would on other more vintage wire chairs. I have no detached the base from the seat so I can't say I have fully inspected it. But the owner said he might of got it about 20 years ago? (so its pretty recent?) 2 pictures. http://imgur.com/Jhk6iGc,ymBjKMa | |||||
| Question about Maraham Eames Small Dot fabric | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | Cloudburst2000 | General discussion | |
| ... He actually likes that side best. I don't have much a preference really. So is this fabric actually reversible? Can you use either side of the fabric. I have only ever seen pics of the sand fabric with the cream small dot pattern. I have never seen it reversed on a piece of furniture. I tried googling but didn't get any type of enlightenment. I have emailed Eames Gallery about the fabric but haven't heard back yet. I thought perhaps someone here would know the answer. Thanks! | |||||
| To AP or not to AP | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | DudeDah | General discussion | |
| ... closer inspection I didn't see the telltale stamp and only saw "USA" scrawled on the bottom so I thought it might be Gainey. Well, the auction was running long and VERY hap-hazard, no lot numbers they just randomly picked up stuff and let the hounds have at it, and I had my pregnant wife and five year-old daughter in tow, so I asked a friend to bid $50-$55 and left. When I got home this evening I was SHOCKED to find the planter on my porch. I took it inside and looked at it some more and thought, DANG this REALLY looks like AP. SO i took it over and compare ... | |||||
| Danish / Scandinavian credenza ID? | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | M_Dennis87 | Identification | |
| I've recently purchased some dining room furniture, 6 chairs (that I believe to be Harry Ostergaard that I've shown in another thread), a Walter of Wabash table, and a large 80" credenza that is either Scandinavian or Danish that I'm hoping somebody can help ID for me. It's teak / teak veneer construction and I didn't notice any marking / stamps on it. I've found a few other credenzas that are identical. I don't have the credenza in my possession yet (couldn't fit it in my Subaru) but attached are some pictures the exact ... | |||||
| Hans Wegner J16 Rocking Chair worth it? | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | J.J. | General discussion | |
| Hi all, Curious to hear from the experts on this wonderful find at a local thrift store. Hans Wegner J16 Rocker and they want $150.00 for it. Markings are all there under the arms and Mobler sticker in tact. Structurally, she's still quite sound and I didn't notice any damage to the joints or otherwise. The weave is stained and of course the paint/finish issues are pretty evident. Not a refinishing expert and haven't ever taken on a project like this so was interested in hearing your thoughts. Thanks! | |||||

| Reupholstery ideas | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | Cloudburst2000 | General discussion | |
| I recently purchased a France and Sons sofa to replace my knock-off (but nice) Hans Wegner type daybed. The daybed would have needed recovering as I didn't care for the fabric even though it was in good condition. After considering the cost of the reupholstery, I decided to sell the knock-off daybed and save on reupholstery costs and get one of the France and Sons sofas I have always drooled over. A local shop had one and I got a good deal since I am a regular customer there. The sofa I purchased had been recently reupholstered by the previous owner in ... | |||||

| It is Knoll | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | Yago7 | General discussion | |
| You can't really see the angle of the back to compare it with the side shot. It looks real and the Matricola tag confirms it. I recently bought a Womb chair which has Knoll printed in the frame just under the arm rest. It also carries the Matricola sticker with 7 and 07 punched. Maybe Knoll didn't stamp the frames back in 01 but it certainly is a genuine piece. | |||||
