| Restoring a "Made in Denmark" stamp | 1 Relevance | 10 years ago | nateclark | Identification | |
| Hello, First time caller, long time listener... I just bought a Hans Olsen chair in pretty rough shape, and I'm planning to refinish/restore it myself. (Except for the caning part. Duh.) I was hesitant to buy it because I didn't see any manufacturers markings... I thought maybe it was a reproduction or something. But then I found a very, very faint "MADE IN DENMARK" stamp underneath. I have three questions: 1) Is there any other way to confirm that this is a Hans Olsen chair? It looks exactly like the ones he designed for Juul Kristensen... but the stamp doe ... | |||||
| Restoring 4 x carimate | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | fishafish | General discussion | |
| I just picked up a set of red Carimate chairs by Vico Magistretti. Previous owner decided to paint them black and didn't do a fantastic job because the paint is coming off. Is it possible to restore them to a natural finish, something along the line of ?1403560175 or should I forget about it and give it a new original color? Much appreciated, | |||||

| This is a pamphlet put out by Poul Cadovius' company Royal System A/S on its 25th anniversay in 1970. I didn't know a lot about Cadovius. For instance I never knew the name of the company responsible for the wall systems. It was Royal System A/S, and the original wall system design shared the same name. | |||||

I dont have a matching chair for it. I think that once there was a MCM chair with black leather. Over the years it got worn out and went missing into the trash (I wish that didn't happen). At the end of the day can anyone help ? Thanks Hans PS - I have attached pics to help in the ID - sorry for the mess on the desk top. | |||||
| Dating a 4x2 Eames Storage Unit | 1 Relevance | 10 years ago | pardicity | Identification | |
| Hi all — I was fortunate enough to find an Eames 4x2 storage unit just sitting by the road the other day. I'm guessing a house was being sold and whoever was responsible for cleaning it out didn't realize the significance of the piece. Anyway, I'm trying to both determine if it is an authentic piece and figure out an approximate manufacturing date. Unfortunately, the piece is currently disassembled and the only photos I have of it fully assembled are at night time, when it was found. In case you can't tell, it is a 4x2 unit with sliding veneer doors on both ... | |||||
| Italian pottery lava vase and bowl | 1 Relevance | 10 years ago | rich6705 | Identification | |
| I've been interested in pottery lately, and really love the mid-century Italian pieces. I bought this pair at a vintage shop yesterday at a reasonable price, not knowing what to find underneath the cloth that was tightly glued to the bottom of them for decades. The store owner didn't know either, and suggested they were made by a local artist. He was wrong. When I got home I peeled off the cloth and found the "Italy 7475" underneath the vase. I have to remove lots of glue goo yet to see the marking on the the bottom of the bowl. I just haven't found anything ... | |||||

| Hi Guys, I recently bought this lamp. The price was right so it didn't really matter to me if it's fake or not. The colour and the shape look good to me (compaired to these pictures: https://www.wright20.com/auctions/2014/11/recherche/122?search=serge+mouille ) but i am no expert. What do you think? Authentic or fake/reproduction? | |||||
