| Yes they are. And those are the ones that did not get retailed by Selig, so they might have MK labels or maybe not. MK didn't care to label their stuff much. | |||||

| As for the chieftain chair, I took a punt on an online auction and my guess is that it is just a well made replica. didn't cost much and has no markings. It is still quite beautiful though The nice chairs are the ones to the left of the sofa. Jean Gillon. Leather is stuffed though D:! | |||||

| Minimoma--nice finds! I immediately thought that the platter must be from Goran and Ann Warff's "Party Marina" line, the one with the fish and crustaceans, because it looks like either coral or an amoeba. But it didn't pop up in any image search of "kosta boda party marina". Maybe it's a rare prototype worth $30,000!!! (I kid.) I don't know what else it could be, though. | |||||

In Artek they take a piece of wood, saw several slits and then bend the leg (see the picture). And, finally, the measurement didn't correspond to Aalto's chair.

| Great comments, Takoda! I hope I didn't sound like I thought it mattered much why someone ends up here, or their motives in seeking an ID, or anything else. I do think that it's easy to jump to conclusions a lot of them time when you can't hear the inflection behind the words, or when you are stressed about totally unrelated things---or when a new poster reminds you of a few individuals in the past who did turn out to be genuinely combative or rude. Thankfully those tend not to come around too often. My Panton Home--Lyst leder/l | |||||

| Again Leif, I don't understand what you are implying in your last sentence. Please explain. Are you assuming that I didn't try to find out anything about this sofa. But then again you've made up your mind as to what people should be doing on this forum to be worthy of posting and what is worthy of your praise along with your professional assessment of the topic in hand. Errr...... some of us are newcomers, I did mention that and if I didn't, I am now. Maybe you can post the protocol as to what us 'newcomers' should do in order to meet up to your standards. ... | |||||

| Quite the tease. If the intended reaction thought was "Gee, I didn't know there were rosewood paws," then I am guilty as charged. | |||||

As for the motivation behind as to why someone is posting on the forum, I don't see what the reason behind a person's posting matters. If someone finds a piece that they don't even have yet, what does it matter. If they can buy a piece it turns out to be worth something, then all the power to them. Even if it's the only post they ever make to this site for the pu ...
| Geez Leif, | 1 Relevance | 9 years ago | Takoda | Identification | |
| Geez Leif, read your recent post. I guess I don't understand where you're coming from. With all due respect, I spent hours trying to learn about my new pieces which included looking under different design terms, scoop vs. L vs. C and that's because I really have a desire to learn. Perhaps Pocketprince did the same. And if he/she didn't, then what do you care. The purpose of this section of the design forum from what I gathered is to comment and help others out. Is your reply the general assumption of yourself and others on this site which explains why s ... | |||||
| Thanks. From what I've been | 1 Relevance | 9 years ago | Dalloway | General discussion | |
| Thanks. From what I've been able to determine this chair has features of the earlier chairs from the 1930s before the chair went into mass manufacturing, including the nails/tacks and the brass endcaps, which I don't thnk occur on later models So, no, I didn't suspect it was a later Interna model. The only viable options seemed that it was either one of those earlier models and therefore unmarked or it was a contemporaraneous reproduction (the hardware and the genral wear to the wodd and leather indicates age). I did read somewhere about an unspecifie ... | |||||

Aside of this, just for curiosity: I didn't know that there was no evidence that Vodder designed for Sibast. So there is even no evidence that the "famous" Sibast model 29A was designed by Vodder? | ... I doubt those shells are 40 years old (didn't they only use Rosewood back then?). Other things. That HM emblem looks small and should also refer to HM. (See Pic) The arm rests and the rest of the cushions look weird but I know they use different leather. I've never seen a Vitra base in person so can't speak to the 'serial number.' More pictures could put this to rest (including the back of the cushions...
