| @Leif I suspect its a G Plan so that would make a lot of sense. They didn't use solid teak generally, just afromosia and teak veneer. | |||||

| It's bizarre to see this, UK | 1 Relevance | 8 years ago | Kyle Barrett | General discussion | |
| It's bizarre to see this, UK importing companies like Finmar, Danasco and Scandia generally didn't get to label anything as the department stores weren't keen on having the curtain pulled back on their supplier. Their function was solely business to business. I wonder what the story is there then! | |||||

| 'ITALY' Ceramic lamp base. Bistossi? Aldo Londi?, Flavia Montelupo?, Bellini?, Desimone? Who can help out? | 1 Relevance | 9 years ago | Duverger | Identification | |
| This lamp base is in my possesion for sometime and I decided to finally find out who the artist is. In my search I came across Bitossi, Aldo Bondi, Flavia Montelupo. But the texture is not rough but smooth. Both didn't use 'faces'. The colours are correct (Rimini) but no embossed figures. Bellini? or the 'faces' of 'Desimone'?? It is signed handpainted 'ITALY'. Nothing more. Who van help me out here? Thanks a lot? | |||||

| Thought this looked really cool, but didn't know anything about it. I've come to find out it might be made by a reputable designer. Just wanted to ask if anyone knows how it might be authenticated as a genuine Sonneman? Were there knock offs of these lamps? Thank you! | |||||
| So yesterday I learned that | 1 Relevance | 8 years ago | mgee76 | Repair | |
| ... done. Thankfully, I ordered an extra sheet of cane. On my first attempt at pressing it into the groove, the wedge I'd made completely sheered the cane. Turns out that thinner wedges are best, and that they should really be rounded on the edges. I completed it out for practice, sans glue, and it didn't look too bad. I decided to soak the remaining sheets for a few hours longer than had been recommended, which I think helped quite a bit. I also decided not to trim the cane down to shape first, and I think that was the right decision. It wasn't exactly difficu ... | |||||
| I don't know who made it but | 1 Relevance | 8 years ago | Spanky | Identification | |
| I don't know who made it but it sure looks comfortable. I am guessing it's American simply because of the caps on the ends of the legs. Scandinavians didn't use those but they're found on lots of American-made furniture. The fabric is ribbed velvet and not corduroy, by the way. If you're planning to sell it, that's a good thing to know. It doesn't just sound fancier, it's also more durable than corduroy. | |||||

| That's the video I watched that made me think it didn't look too difficult, spanky. Vinegar and hot water was suggested to soften the glue. I also have heard different opinions as to stripping the backs before or after removing the cane. My assumption would be that the stripper and solvents would soften the glue, but some lady told me that it could actually make the glue worse? Not sure if I believe that, but we'll see. Dunbar, in my experience, didn't seem to give too much thought to people doing repair. I guess I'll just have to play around and see what w ... | |||||

| I'm not sure what you are accusing myself or my company of being guilty of? Whatever it is, it is based on assumptions.. I disclosed who I am and what my company is, but didn't realize how deep I needed to go with my disclosures... Wow! You went to my web-site and found the same cross braces in my showroom as in William's pictures. You must be a brain surgeon in your day job! I've been clear that I know William quite well. That was the basis of my support for him in this post.. Once again, jury, judge and prosecutor... Where are your true motivations?? This ... | |||||
