| Estate sale | 1 Relevance | 14 years ago | jdip | General discussion | |
| This set was at an estate sale this last Friday. Had to work so couldn't go. Spoke to the people running the sale and they said it went for 1000 which actually made me feel so much better as it would have sucked if they said 150. I didn't know there were tables that go with these chairs. I am sure this would fetch a good chunk in a high end shop. This is the pic that was in the add for the estate sale. The pickers for the BG store on 1st dibs hit the New York area so wouldn't be surprised if they got it. | |||||
| Is this lamp Arredoluce? | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | jjschiller | General discussion | |
| Those hook-shaped pass-through attachment fixtures look like those on lamps I've seen attributed to Sarfatti for Arteluce/Arredoluce. But this lamp sold on 1st dibs, and the dealer made no mention of a maker; seems strange a 1st dibs seller wouldn't try to attribute it if they had even the slightest reason to believe.. | |||||
| ID on Danish roll-top desk (teak) | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | dandelauro | Identification | |
| Did well at a sale today and picked up this amazing teak roll-top desk. After googling, I saw one on 1st dibs for considerably more than I paid for it. But regardless of price, I'm really just interested in figuring out its origin. If anyone has any input, it would be appreciated. Thanks! | |||||
| Danish? teak cabinet ID | 1 Relevance | 11 years ago | M_Dennis87 | Identification | |
| I'm trying to ID this cabinet I'm looking at. I believe it's Danish, but I'm unable to find anything else similar apart from an unidentified and expired 1st dibs listing that has similar finger pulls. Attached are the pictures and a link to the 1st dibs piece. Any help would be greatly appreciated. https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/storage-case-pieces/cabinets/vintage-danish-teak-cabinet/id-f_732444/ | |||||
| Is this an authentic Vistosi? | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | keewee | Identification | |
| Is this an authentic Vistosi? This girl over in the FB Mid Century page bought it at a home store. She didn't want to use it/hated it until the admin of the page told her it was Vistosi. Now she claims to have had it appraised and it's authentic. And apparently she was able to both find an appraiser and get a report from him in two days. I've seen more than a dozen of the real deal and they did not use a cheap highly polished chrome plated graduated tri-level rosette where it attaches to the ceiling.I have seen these exact colors in one ... | |||||
| Help identifying possible Pucci Cappellini rocking chair? | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | Stephie07 | Identification | |
| Hello everyone. We found this rocker coming up for sale at a local auction. We cannot find any info on it online, other that the same one (same construction), was sold on First dibs. The First dibs chair had Emilio Pucci fabric on it, but neither the listing, nor any other info I have found, mentions the name of the chair designer. I have been reading that Cappellini did some designing with Pucci, but can't find this chair. Of course, the chair could be a completely unknown designer that just had Pucci fabric added to it. Does anyone have any info a ... | |||||
| Jens Risom executive desk? | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | august85 | General discussion | |
| I have a question about a beautiful desk that I bought recently. It looks like a Jens Risom design. Would anyone happen to know if this is real? The sticker/label have been removed. There is sticker residue on inside of the top left drawer. The hardware is exactly the same as a Risom desk on 1st dibs, and if you google his work the drawer pulls are found on other desks credenzas that he designed. http://d1t1u890k7d3ys.cloudfront.net/cdn/farfuture/-p3Y1-oMSMPZsHcyd3skglsdvC3j8Q7qlYDaYwHWKhI/mtime:1487900023/sites/default/files/forum/DSCN0039.jp g" /> | |||||
| Rulebreaking, I know... | 1 Relevance | 15 years ago | danielmpoole | General discussion | |
| Sorry if i'm crossing the line here but I need a bit of help. I'm off to an auction to see if I can pick up a Larsen Madsen Metropolitan chair. I've seen a couple of these for sale at extraordinary prices, one at $9,800 on 1st dibs, the other for £4,600 in a shop. I know it's obviously up to me as to how much I want to bid up to, but is a quarter of these prices consdered too much? Sorry if i'm breaking the rules. | |||||
| Are these doggie lamps really George Nelson? | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | william-holden-... | General discussion | |

Their is one on first dibs that is "attributed to Grete Jalk" as well as on Treadway Toomey Galleries, but i have yet to confirm it's by Jalk. | George Nelson Swag Leg desk | 1 Relevance | 12 years ago | Cloudburst2000 | General discussion | |
| ... when he married my sister. I put the bedroom off until last since the furniture was in decent shape and was modern style. I plan to replace with mostly teak mid-century modern furniture. My desk goes in the bedroom and I have been majorly salivating over the Nelson Swag Leg desk for a while. I love the styling of the desk and think it will compliment the Saarinen tulip table I plan to use as a bedside table and the modern white stand I plan on using as for my new marine aquarium. The new aquarium is also another major reason I want to get started on th ... | |||||
| Bar cabinet - American Modern? | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | Tex Brufer | General discussion | |
| Found a bar cabinet at my local thrift shop today. I'm still iffy on whether I like it. For the price, the wood alone was worth it. I stumbled across the same cabinet on 1st dibs with an alarmingly high price tag. I know this is typical for 1st dibs. Any guess as to manufacturers? No markings anywhere but a few nice attributes, brass hinges, wood joints on legs, Walnut bookmatched veneer. Sorry for the crappy photos, the pictures on 1stdibs are much better. My guess is American 1950s. Im pretty sure its mis-advertised as solid walnut and really veneer pl ... | |||||
| Lane bar with tulip base possibly by Paul Evans... | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | Cloudburst2000 | General discussion | |
| A guy about an hour away is selling a Lane bar with a chrome tulip base. I am in the market for a bar that is 30 inches in width or less. Anyhoo, I have seen this same bar attributed to Paul Evans in a couple places. 1st dibs also listed this piece (already sold) but did not attribute it to Paul Evans. I have attached a photo of the bar. Does anyone know if Paul Evans actually designed such a bar for Lane? The seller is asking $850. I have no idea if this is a reasonable price or not as I have not seen the piece before. I wouldn't have to worry about ... | |||||
| Need help identifying DUX sofa | 1 Relevance | 13 years ago | Kat B | General discussion | |
| My boyfriend and I purchased this sofa today (teal). The dealer said that it was indeed DUX, but didn't have any more info on it. I've been scouring the Internet all day and was only able to find a First dibs listing of a very similar sofa (baby blue) ? but since ours lacks back cushions, we're unsure if they're the same or just similar models. I couldn't find any DUX catalogues online, so hoping someone here might be able to provide more insight. Is ours missing back cushions? Or is this look original? Or is it not DUX at all? We've confirmed the base is te ... | |||||
