Inquire at BK upholstery to see if they do this. Your cover is nice looking. The screws are #10-32 allen head bolts, or known as socket head cap screws. I think your chair has been repaired, at the bar, that holds the shock mounts. This is where you are seeing rust. Here is a link to an old thread on chair repairs. http://www.designaddict.com/design_addict/forums/index.cfm/fuseactio ...

| better SX-70 I like the love bracelet from Cartier. Mark, if he must shop at Tiffany & Co. then Jean Schlumberger is the designer of choice (think Two Bees ring). There is never a problem with diamonds. | |||||

| ... welding... I would not weld one of these unless it was done with a TIG welder, and then you need a backup piece of metal to keep the wire from melting and dripping away from the original contour. Its extremely time consuming, and there are usually more broken welds than you first see. I recommend looking for all the broken wires, and fixing them all at once. That will give you the most durability. A TIG welder is used in micro welding, aerospace, and in race car applications. I build race cars, and am a metal worker by trade. If you find a good metal worker ... | |||||

| Me too. Gold and diamonds don't really do it for me. Mine's a bit older than that one, but otherwise identical. I fell in love with it as a child. It was my dad's. He was a military pilot when he bought the watch. | |||||

| generous guy Riki, I heard that this Ark is a generous (but feisty) guy and I am sure he would pleased to purchase this Chopard watch from the Happy diamonds collection for you if you were his wife (do not forget that you get him along with the watch). I have read his prior post and it seems he may attempt to talk you into something more luxurious from Cartier. This is just a guess. I generally wear the Rolex Explorer II Ref.1655 straight hand (Steve McQueen model). A gift from Mom and Dad. | |||||

| If I was married to Ark, I would make him buy me this Chopard watch that I have been coveting since it came out last season. The little diamonds float around just under the glass and it is too cool for school. I'm getting all misty just posting it on here. | |||||

| I wish I had a photo, but my ... I wish I had a photo, but my childhood library had bertoia diamonds and knoll sofas. the knoll sofas were reupholstered in the early 90s with some god awful maroon, hunter green and country blue floral upholstery. Painful. | |||||
| Isn't that like | 1 Relevance | 16 years ago | SDR | General discussion | |
| Isn't that like being "tired of" Mercedes -- or diamonds, or apple pie ? A good product is still good, whether we get bored or over-fed on it. . .no ? Maybe I missed the argument, somewhere. . . | |||||

| This is not a common pattern.... This is not a common pattern. have a look closer at the fitting. There is virtually no symmetry at all in this design. It's not that one or two 'diamonds' are off, it's that there is literally no discernable repetition. That's amazing. I'm guessing that it's a Formica pattern, one of their 'quilted' variations (this grey thing here is one). Any idea where to find a pattern book of vintage Formica patterns? The collection on their website is contemporary and not retro and an archive of their stuff I found on an online forum is ... | |||||

| ... From Welsh slate to Finnish forests to Chinese silk, Tasmanian veneers and South African diamonds. Within a 200km radius of where I live some of the best sandstone and granite is available, it is 'cheaper' to ship these monstorous slabs of granite from China than it is to stand on our own feet and be proud of what we have. China might 'win' but I consider myself a patriot (in a quiet sort of way) and I know that we lose. | |||||
| I hate the whole ad | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | Brent | General discussion | |
| I hate the whole ad Ah, the whole ad bugs me. It's elitist. It frames the argument as high brow vs. low brow. For example, the ad shows a plate of fresh food as 'real', and a TV dinner as fake. TV dinners are an iconic working man symbol, affordable and sometimes necessary among middle-class working men and women. HM might just have said white collars are real and blue collars fake. Some other elitist juxtapositions: Grass vs Astroturf doormat. Mona Lisa vs paint-by-numbers. Fresh cranberries vs canned cranberries. diamonds and pearls vs costume diamonds an ... | |||||

| Deck Chairs? I'd say get the white bertoia diamonds. Its what I'd do for deck chairs anyway. Not that hard to clean. I think it does say "limited outdoor use" or something along those lines ... so you gotta take them in sometimes. Not quite a leave out to the elements sorta chair. Agree with whitespike on the gunk ... but won't black get hot real quick in the sun? *sizzle* | |||||
| Beware | 1 Relevance | 18 years ago | GrasshopperModern | General discussion | |
| Beware I have had several diamonds redone as well at metal work shops and they do look really great. However, the last time I went in they had to melt the rubberized coating off and when they did that the welds were not strong enough anymore to stay together. The whole thing fell apart and was lost. I guess just make sure your welds are strong before they start hitting it with high power sand or melting the rubberized coating. | |||||

He knows how to motivate the troops, but to use his years at BMW as a example of American design dominance is a stretch. Steve Job certainly has done a great job in positioning Apple but the design was early on done by Helmut Eslinger, a well schooled German designer that in the early Apple years had both an office in Germany and the U.S. called Frog design..etc. etc. Before trying to formulate an answer one side note: we "Canadians" are not in a positio ...
