| I came accross these two benches at an estate sale. The owner passed away and the children remember that their dad bought them at De Coene, together with 4 diamond chairs, also for sale. 2 white, 2 black with cushions and with obvious signs of age. First, these benches have 6 and not 8 wooden bars. Also there is a small cross bar in metal in the middle for support. The benches are obviously vintage. I've heard that De Coene would sometimes adjust Knoll designs for a variety of reasons. But could they have made these benches with 6 instead of 8 bars? Has anyo ... | |||||

| Hi all, I just picked up a vintage Knoll Bertoia Wide diamond Chair. I love everything about it... except the orange seat cover. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for original colors and original pieces, but the orange just does not go with the decor in my apartment. I'd really like to dye this cover and make it black. However, I've done a lot of research and haven't come across anyone who has attempted to do this. (Maybe that's a sign?) In any case, I was wondering if its possible. Anybody have info on this? | Hi there. I hope someone can help me, or maybe can send pictures of their chrome Bertoia Bird Chair. Yesterday I had a look at a chromed Bird Chair which will be sold by an older wife. She said, she had it around 1980, but didn´t knew it with 100%. But it sounds correct. She got if from an architect friend. No signature or sticker around it. It is a chrome one with orange/red fabric around it. The fabric looks good with some patina in the colour of the sun. What makes me think, that is maybe an older replica is the quality of the metal/chrome and the holder ... | |||||

| After six years of occasional inquiry, I will be receiving (for free) two Bertoia diamond chairs with full canary yellow pads. These chairs are in my childhood public library. I spent a good deal of time there, and my grandmother was a volunteer there as well, so I am very glad to be getting these. Although it's bittersweet because they are giving them to me, only because they are closing and going on to newer facilities. It makes me sad. I have such nice memories of the library, and I love it's interior as well. Shame. | |||||

| I just purchased a set of Bertoia diamond Chairs that had been left outside for the last several yrs. I didn't notice it until I got home, but when you get within a couple of feet of them you start to smell a horrible rotten egg like odor. when you get up close to the metal it's even worse and really horrible. I was planning on putting a spray paint primer on and then spray painting the chairs and was wondering if after I do this the smell will still be there or if there is some other way I can get rid of it...HELP! | |||||

| Just noticed Modernica added the Ball, Pear, and Cigar in Criss Cross options like they used to be offered! Very exciting...if only they'd re-introduce the diamond. Wouldnt mind seeing the lantern style also or an small apple tripod. | |||||
