| . You might need to do a little research and compare dimensions, tube diameters etc to establish that it is a Thonet produced desk, just because of the fact that copying of tubular steel designs was pretty rife back in the 30s, but FWIW my hunch is that it is Thonet, and very nice indeed. Please don't restore it! | |||||

It looks similar to paper cord but has a lot more texture and range of color within each strand. It comes in many diameters and is also used for baskets, rugs, hats, and all kinds of things.

| cristataman Frank's Cane & Rush Supply sells seagrass in many weights with approximate diameters given. I didn't see anything about plies but they're very helpful and pleasant on the phone so I'm sure you can call and ask. I've ordered from them many times and have always gotten great service and quality stuff. http://www.franksupply.com/caning/rush-and-supplies.html#seagrass | |||||

| Magis Tavolo XZ3 and Eames DAW I can recommend the Magis Tavolo XZ3 table (round, 120cm diameters) which is good for four people, six people are possible for special occasions. It's very inexpensive too. It has a white MDF top so it's perfect for kids! We use a customized Tavolo table with maple vaneer and black coated table legs so it fits perfect to our Eames DAW chairs. First two pictures are magazine-photographs, the third picture is our table: | |||||

I don't know if that's the best way to say that---do you know what i mean, though? eta: i shouldn't say most are even of turned parts--but this looks like stock lumber parts, like costs were kept down by not having to do much beyond cutting the outline and rounding the edges, y'know? I'm guessing the chair is American but I could be wrong. Please post some clear, well-lit shots of different parts of the wood grain. That can often help to ID the part of the ...

The points of connection, and their diameters, etc, would thus be closely controlled. I'm sure this was the case even before computer-controlled milling was introduced. The assembly video showed (as I recall it) fully shaped arms being attached to the assembled leg structure. In the case of this chair, there is a slight reveal -- both halves of the joint being slightly rounded -- where th ...

What could be done is to use hard perforated platic tubing (perhaps of varying diameters, 10mm-30mm), the arrangement could be partially done outside of the vase and then the individual tubes placed inside the main container? I'll stop now I've said quite enough 🙂 Heath

| There are, let us say, not an unlimited number of different screw threads, diameters and lengths, materials, and head configurations from which to choose. Slotted or Phillips heads would be the probable choices for your piece, though I suppose hex-drive is a possibility; if finish washers were used (do the screws penetrate a flat or a rounded surface?) the usual head shape would be "oval." | |||||

| Hi First off its a small... Hi First off its a small diamond chair, and nice, but more common than the model 422 wide diamond. I love the wide diamond, as they have a more loungy seating position, and are more roomy and cozy. There is no good reason to date it from the cover label, unless you know the original owner of the chair and the cover. I have a new cover on my very early small diamond. My original, old cover is in the basement. The more important thing is no broken wires! Hey- if one breaks, the remaining unbroken ones will get more load to carry, an ... | |||||

Smith was the first artist featured in the Premier Issue of the Dallas Homes and Gardens Magazine. His rug wallhangings were always signed GS with a copyright and dated. At one time there were three lines designed simultaneously: commercial, art circuit, and custom art. Some wallhangings were primarily sold through the most highly juried art shows across the United States, enthusiastically acclaimed because of the text ...

| I'm not feeling that one either. What about this home? It's pretty much the diametric opposite, I think. I saw photos of it years ago somewhere and was fascinated at how someone could choose to live in a home like this. I love every single thing in it and I love it all together, but it's not me, either! Still. I'd love to visit it. http://www.designrulz.com/design/2013/08/welcome-to-karens-color-explosi... PS, Aunt Mark, you are a peach among men. | |||||

| It could well be the base to a Hvidt & Mølgaard table that lost the top and consequently lost the marks. On a teak top table, I would expect one mark on one under side near the edge, and the other mark diametrically opposite. Of course I've never looked under one of these particular France and Søn tables, but that is how they do it on the others I've seen. I can check my catalog about the stretcher. I don't really know about that question.... | |||||
