| The closest thing I see to a site plan | 2 Relevance | 12 years ago | jw468 | General discussion | |
| The closest thing I see to a site plan is the attached link, which is part of the resort's website. There's a zoomable satellite image; however, the resolution isn't spectacular. http://www.thenakaphuket.com/phuket-beach-villa-location-map.html#.U-zEj... | |||||
| Don't do it! Another thing | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | juanearl | General discussion | |
| Don't do it! Another thing to consider is that they may not end up comfortable even with the rabbet filled in. The front rail looks too thin to be comfortable. All chairs I've rewoven have a fairly thick and rounded front rail which takes quite a bit of the pressure when you are sitting on them. | |||||
| The next thing the passenger does | 2 Relevance | 15 years ago | tktoo | General discussion | |
| The next thing the passenger does is dump a cup of coffee in it. Coffee with lots of sugar and cream. Thereby ensuring that every crumb, bit of lint, and grain of sand ends up in there, too. Don't get me wrong, however. I loved that 99. The ingnition location was just another one of those minor annoyances caused by the inability of different cultures to relate. | |||||
| I did the same thing | 2 Relevance | 16 years ago | sirlampsalot | General discussion | |
| I did the same thing to my Saarinen chairs where there was chipping around the edge of the bases. I had to go to four different places to get paint mixed that matched the patina of the finish properly. I also had to take in to account the eggshell finish of the chairs. The people at my Benjamin Moore couldn't do it. Home Depot was the winner in this situation. | |||||

| I made the books into a monolith as they are the first thing you see when you come into the living room from the foyer. As to the time it took to accomplish, time is something I am happy to say I have the luxury of. No kids, and no 9 to 5 time grinder. | |||||

| The closest thing I can think of, is Arne Jacobsen's 3103. I don't think it was ever manufactured with armrests. | |||||
| patina is one thing | 2 Relevance | 14 years ago | waffle | General discussion | |
| patina is one thing grime is another. It's a choice we all make. The stems on the 2 lamps I had were black/blue with grime and hand marks. The patina will develop over time, I'm cool with that. Better my grime then someone else's | |||||

| Interesting thing to point out robert1960 yeah, now that I've made a google search on "Italian tubular smoked glass table" (probably should done that earlier) I've seen a few simmilar looking designs! So probably the table isn't what it could be in terms of rarity at least 🙂 | |||||
| Another thing that's very | 2 Relevance | 11 years ago | Spanky | General discussion | |
| Another thing that's very different about it is the way the front rail of the seat from is thinner in the center than on the ends--I love that! So elegant. What a beautiful chair! If you're planning on keep them, you should look into how to care for the cane. Old cane can get very dry and then it's prone to breaking. I read in some old caning book many years ago that you should mist the back of the cane with water every once in awhile but maybe there are better ways nowadays. | |||||

| one more thing... Learn how to use the blade guides properly and adjust them for each job! It's worth the few minutes it takes. Silicon steel flex-back blades are what you should be looking for. The non-hardened back gives is less stability, but you will break less and save yourself the $15.00 it costs to replace them. If you realy run into a very exciting problem you can always e-mail me.(consult the designer index of DA under the letter "D") | |||||
| For the series the last thing | 2 Relevance | 9 years ago | Ernest Rams | General discussion | |
| For the series the last thing that you did not acquire: Went this early morning to what advertised as the biggest flea market in Austria (Dorbirn), organized by Lion Club. Place was packed with people, and tons of crap. No way to find anything meaningful. Left after 45 min with empty hands. Have seen at least some fun scenes. Wish you a great weekend Ernest. | |||||
| The thing I'm picking at here | 2 Relevance | 9 years ago | objectworship | Identification | |
| The thing I'm picking at here is the idea of "worth". Quality opinions of so-called worthiness can't really be offered based on the information provided thus far. Was my new bookshelf a good purchase for me? Did it make a good addition to my space? Of course it was and did, but there's no way for you to know that... Don't worry, I'm going back to my local rants & raves section on craigslist now. Bye! | |||||
